I am considering heading up a Tigeowners reunion for folks near Vegas or Southern Utah. I had a disc taken out and my surgeon says I am good to go by Halloween, so for me the best time will be early November. That is not a very family-friendly time of year, but would be nice to put a face with some of the names on the board, and do a little cold weather riding.
I was considering the following:
1. Some wakeboarding and surfing
2. An opportunity to see other Tiges and their stereo setups etc.
3. I might be able to twist some arms at Boats of Nevada and even get a group test drive of an RZ2, or another 07 boat.
4. Barbeque
2 locations should be considered:
Overton marina - That time of year the Lake is nearly deserted and the water is usually calm, clear and glassy. It is only an hour or so from Vegas, so even guys from out of town could come to Vegas for the weekend, take in a few hours on Lake Mead and get back for more fun in town. It might be easier for the dealer in Vegas if he is willing (I probably should have talked to him about this first, but I fully understand if he is unable). The water is usually still over 60 degrees that time of year.
Sand Hollow - This is about 2.5 hours from Vegas, 5 hours from Salt Lake City. The reservoir is also deserted that time of year. The sand dunes are nearby so you could wakeboard/surf and ride 4 wheelers the same day. The water may get a little chillier, my bet would be mid 50's depending on our weather.
These thoughts are mostly off of the top of my head, so input would be good. I'm sure that I can get Lovin' Powell to show up.
What do you think?
