    Tige factory FAE

For those thinking about upgrading, here are some pictures of the new mandrel bent FAE available from Tige.

As you can see, no brackets, all integrated into the flange design etc.

    Enjoy-

    Jason

So is this done in partnership with FAE or is this Tige's own?

Out of curiosity, is this a licensed use of the FAE like CC is doing or is tige's own surf exhaust pipe? I sure hope its thru-bolted with one hell of a backing plate.

Cat's out of the bag, thanks for posting. I've been waiting to get an answer on availability and pricing for my '17. FAE couldn't sell me a '17 model due to this coming, so I'm assuming they worked out a licensing agreement. I'm a little worried the price will be pretty high, to the point of being prohibitive for me, which stinks, because we usually ride with four kids and are trying to get all of them more involved.

It's in partnership with fae.... Tige wouldn't pull that crap like cc.

Yes it's a 2 piece design with lots and lots of testing... the backing flange and hull integration is plenty sturdy...

Well the unit is pretty refined from the FAE of late... think Cc. It being all mandrel bent is impressive. Pictures don't do it justice..

Looks like LOTS of mechanical leverage from that arm, compared to the size of the flange and its screws. One kid's misplaced foot off the swim platform and the repairs could get ugly.

Not sure about the licensing details, but a while back I was asked to do an in-depth analysis of the FAE patents and sadly, the owner did not receive good advice when he was writing the patent. It is quite simple to do an "FAE" that avoids patent infringement, and it's too late now to correct it. I don't remember the specifics now and don't know if Tige's design would risk infringement, but it is definitely possible to do an FAE without risk of infringement and therefore no license is required.

Do you know yet if it can be retrofit to a '17 and what would be involved?

Just to be clear, CC didn't "pull that crap". Their unit is a joint venture with FAE just like Tige is doing. From my understanding, Larry and the FAE team was involved with the development of the CC "Surf Pipe". I don't know if FAE is producing it or just receiving royalties from CC for units sold.

It's a joint venture now.... my understanding is it took litigation to get there dandy.

                        Regardless... Tige partnered with FAE.

Yeah, should check your info. There was a large presser about it last year. Larry even worked with PCM on it, not just CC regarding fitment.
