Originally posted by UNSTUCK View PostRob, just so I understand it, I would need to buy the install kit ($200) in order to run your lights, right? It comes with a wireless remote, but could I install a dash switch to turn them on and off? I just know that little remote will end up right next to my tv remote... wherever that is.
To use a dash switch you'll want the "Factory Switch Integrated" version of the kit. That one does not come with a remote, but instead accepts a 12V signal from your system to tell the lights when to turn on and off. We don't provide the actual dash switch because every boat is different, so you'll just need to find the switch you want to use and connect it into a 12V signal on your boat. When the switch is turned on/off that 12V signal tells the lights when to turn on or off. If you have any questions during install, we can walk you through it.
Hope that helps!

I noticed you are from SLC Unstuck. Salt Lake is where we are located as well. We have several dealers in the area that could help you with installation. Our local Tigé dealer, Germaine Marine, is also one of our authorized dealer's and installers. If you're interested we could help you coordinate an install through them.

Just wanted to remind anyone following this thread that there are still 5 days left for our Red & Blue 30% off sale!
It's my understanding that BlackoutATX has gone to great lengths to do a very thorough review of our product, which we are very grateful for! Looking forward to seeing his feedback as well as anyone else in the Tigé community interested in this discussion's input.

Also saw that you guys put your lights on elevated's boat and he seems to really like them. I hear it will be at the reunion as well to see in action( I won't be there though). But definitely love these lights.

Once you see these lights you will flip..... Rob the owner has some awesome promotional stuff coming out with comparisons. I didnt get the need for the boosters to increase output as I have seen or been in boats with almost every light company you can name without them running off the boats 12v system. Needless to say, the difference between almost every other light I have seen and theirs is pretty staggering. And I was a skeptic. I cant imagine running more then 2.......Germaine Marine

There are two reasons that we don't currently run an RGB light. The first is that, as elevatedconcept mentioned, it reduces output. Each LED in a light array is only capable of producing one light color, so in order to create a multi-color lights, you have to replace a portion of the array with LED's for each color you want to run. So, for example a two color light of say white and blue, would have half blue LED's and half white LED's, cutting the performance of each color in half. If you go with a 3 or 4 color RGB, you are dividing total light output by 3 or 4 times respectively. We understand the appeal of RGB for a lot of users, but our product is designed to be the industry leader in performance. An RGB design is counter-productive to our business model right now.
The second reason we have stayed away from RGB's is that we have had several customer's of other products contact us for lights and tell us that they had another brand's RGB and received a fix-it ticket from police or park rangers on the lake and are therefore ready to switch over to our light. The reason behind this is that when you combined certain color combinations, you are at risk of imitating navigation lights and police/ranger red and blue light color combo's. I spoke with a customer last week that told me they were ticketed for "imitating a police officer" because they had color changing lights on their boat that contained red and blue colors in their rotation.

They have some great pictures on the website, but none of them say which model light they are showing. I guess I'll assume they are all the most expensive one.
We set Jason's boat up with a set of White Powder Coated Pipeline's with Blue LED's.

So how is blue or red single color not "imitating" emergency response? Or a single color red or green viewed as approaching from one side or another of a vessel?
Im lucky (or unlucky) to be on a lake that crosses state lines as well as bordered by 3 counties as well as a couple of townships. It is patrolled by the NC wildlife, SC DNR, all 3 county law enforcement, 2 townships as well as the US coast guard. I have spoken to these enforcement divisions any chance I get, and never once has their been a distinction between a multi-color light and a single color. Without a doubt, they all have a universal position. If there is any other color seen from the stern of a boat other than white, its a violation and a citation can be issued. Whether is single color red or blue, dual color white or blue, green or even purple from a true RGB lights. In reality, they issue more tickets to pontoons that come with OEM blue around the tunes, then any other LED light violation.
Before steering away from RGB, I would encourage everyone to consult with their lakes enforcing body for clarification.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More
