Back in February, I ordered a new cover with zip off skirts from Cory at Evolution for my 2100V. I ordered fairly early for this year to make sure I had it with some time to spare for the summer in case any delays popped up.
He’s basically had the cover done since late March even with a machine failure on his side that put him at a disadvantage, but his vendor screwed him on the zippers. They sent the wrong zippers to him and made it seem like an error, when in reality they substituted them without telling him because the ones he ordered weren’t available. They stayed on backorder for nearly two months. That used up the entire cushion I had built into my timing, but once he got them, he was able to finish the cover up quickly.
He shipped the cover FedEx Ground to me on June 7 with an estimated delivery of June 14th. It made steady progress towards me in Concord until it hit Nashville. It spent 2+ days in Nashville, which I found a little suspect, but the delivery date remained unchanged. The last tracking update put it in the Charlotte hub June 13th at about 3:30pm.
Since then, both myself and Cory have had numerous phone calls with numerous departments and people, but no one knows where the cover is. I work very near the Charlotte hub, and have talked to them frequently about coming over to assist, but I’m not allowed (can’t completely blame them for that though). A couple of people there in the QA department seemed to really want to help, and I now believe that the cover is not likely there after dealing with them. One even said the full scan history that they can see looks rather odd, and they’re not 100% sure it actually made it to Charlotte. Now, I’m guessing if it’s still within FedEx’s system its probably headed to their over goods hub, which I’m told is in Salt Lake City. At this point it seems I’m pretty much done for for the summer. Cory has been doing everything he can; but given the time of year, he’s so backed up he likely cant remake my cover until October if we’re not able to recover the original shipment.
I guess if anybody in the Charlotte, Nashville, or Salt Lake City area happens to see what looks like a black Evolution cover with zip off skirts about the right size to fit a 2100V pop up on Craigslist or eBay, let me know.
