    Re: Exhaust fumes

The truth of the matter is, lots of us surfed for years behind our Tiges with no ill effects, or so we thought. In the last year or so, a bunch of us have installed the FAE, Fresh Air Exhaust. I'm sure I won't be the first to tell you that they are cooler than the other side of the pillow. At first it was just for the concern of Co poisoning while surfing. We have all disovered that the overall effect in all conditions with the FAE installed is awesome. Tow boats, with the exhaust tips coming out the transom create the old station wagon effect with the exhaust fumes rolling in over the back of the boat, at all speeds. With the FAE, all the fumes are gone. I had more than one person comment about it in those first few years of Tigedom. Now, with it on, everyone has told me how much nicer it is. Now, with you having kids on tubes (we'll talk about that later), my concern would be that they are breathing the Co that is going to be right in their face if they are laying on the tube. With the FAE, these concerns are gone. The best way to see for your self is to put one on. They are worth every penny IMO.

Nickypoo and a lot of the other guys have put Fresh Air Exhausts on their boats for that purpose. You can do a search on this board and find a lot about them or this website:

        Re: Beer and surfing.

You should never drink and boat. That being said, I'll scrounge around and see if I can find that pic of me balancing my beer on my head while surfing. What can I say, boating without beer is like......well, fishing without beer. Ya right.

DEFINATE NO-NO! That being said as well, i don't even drink as a passenger on a boat! To much room for error as I learned in my MUCH younger days! Also, as a 30 year Harley rider alcohol and riding doesn't mix either!

Pretty interesting I must say, the wife is concerned about the fumes so I'll just have to show her this. My bet is I'll be ordering one real soon!

Almost any of the western Sierra Nevada lakes are good as well as Lake Shasta, Whiskytown & Trinity Lake in NorCal. My favorites are New Hogan Res, Lake Don Pedro, Lake McClure, Shasta Lake. I'm not more than an hour from no less than six major lakes so there's a lot to chosse from!

Never boated on it, been there though and it's a nice lake. I've been wanting to go to Bullards Bar as well, hear it's real nice.

Welcome to the family. We go to Bullards Bar every year to camp and boat, it is awsome up there. We've been going to Hogan for the past 4 years and love it but the weekends have been getting too busy for us, just adds stress to a relaxing day so the family and I have been going further to New Melones and we love it. I had a 97 Tige before I bought the new one last year and like everyone else has said it is a great boat and very well made.

I've got to try Bullards I guess, we camp as well with a fairly large group and it looks great. Hogan can get crowded, we usually head to the back to stay away, never go there on a three day holiday though! Melones id nice, big and uncrowded for the most part.
