    Help needed

I found your forum here and joined in hopes somebody can help me out a bit. I've aquirred a 1995 Tige' 2000 SLM Comp w/ trailer for the ridiculously low price of $5000 and the boat is in what I'd call real good condition. Better than average interior and hull condition, runs great, all original. A little elbow grease and it'll be a beautiful boat to play around with. The problem is that i know nothing about this thing to include the engine HP, etc. Does anybody know of a link or source where i could find out anything on it?

Credit to Lee. Lee gave us a link that goes to archived websites. The archive only starts at 1996.

You can try this link for information on the 96 boats

BTW - Congratulations and welcome to the wonderful world of Tige boating. This is a great board with a lot of knowledgeable people on it. I am a new Tige owner as well and have really benefited from this portal. Post some pictures of your boat when you get a chance!

Here's the only full shot i have so far as i was preparing to start the cleanup and buffing of the gelcoat. I'm taking it out to New Hogan Lake in California on the 15th and I'll get some "real" shots then.

It looks very clean for being 10 years old! Nice colors! A new tower will make it look more modern when you get the chance. I am looking forward to the water pictures!

Here's a thread where a boat similar to yours added a new tower.

I've seen those towers. The only problem I'm going to have i believe is the mounting locations. I doubt I can get one to match the points and if not I'd have to do alot of glass work to fill 'em in.

Nice boat, I'd keep the tower and spend the $$$ elsewhere. I was parked next a boat just like yours at a recent Tige reunion. That boat is really well made and should keep right on tickin'.

Thanks! The tower is solid, real solid! It's a Hoochie Tower ( I know!) and is made in Lodi, CA, It's got a built in bimini and wake designs board racks ... it's just, well BIG! But I've already got used to it and you can put a tube on the bimini and hold in on with the spider bungee, not bad.

The boats mostly for the kids anyway for tubing and stuff as neither the wife or I can do that extreme stuff anymore due to bad knees and backs. It really sucks getting old!

It is a well built boat and i really like the looks of it.

That is a great looking boat!

You got it for a song, and I think you'll be able to enjoy it for years.

I agree with Dogbert, don't fret the tower, as long as it works for you, and is safe, nothing to bother with.

Excuse me, but you're the only Dog on here.

Razzman, you need to start wakesurfing. With a little weight, that boat will put out an awesome surf wake. It's become known as the retirement sport on my boat. Anybody can do it and you can do it all day long. All the pleasure and none of the pain.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

I fully intend to! That was a typo (just caught it), it was supposed to say 6k (still a great deal). I've got it half buffed out and might have it finished tonight. It's looking real good, nice and shiny. Before i bought it I searched the net and found the average retail to be anywhere between 10-12K so i jumped on it. The guy that had it hadn't used it but once this year, needed the money and figured nobody would pay much due to the oxidation and a inoperative stock stereo so he dropped the price way down (good for me) and i just happened to be the first to call. Just so happens I have a buddy that's a stereo dealer so I'll be seeing him soon as well!

That would be right up my ally, all the pleasure and none of the pain! I used to surf as a kid in SoCal where I grew up on the beach, 'course forty years later i'd have to wonder if i could still keep my balance? LOL! Maybe if i tried without a beer in my hand? I keep reading about the exhaust fumes issue when wake surfing, how relevent is that really?
