The VX did much of what an FAE does.

Even with an FAE, they don't work unless your moving, so making sure you shut down while idling is very important.

TOMP. I had FAE on my previous boat and it was the best improvement that I made. My current boat is a 15 Z3 with AVX and there has been no issue with exhaust fumes. I know that there are a few 15's out there with Taps 3 instead of AVX. What does your boat have AVX or Taps3?

        My boat has AVX

I will get more of the symptom details from my kids, i know they think it just from being in the lake.
I personally must plug my nose before going under water or I will be miserable for hours, sinuses blown out from sinus issues and allergies as a kid.

I think the flappers were due to some warranty issue when you remove them? But, ask them they are the pros!

One thing I learned about in a Boy Scout Wilderness First Aid class was hydration tablets. Water is good, of course, but we need more electrolytes.
We take them a lot when we are out on the water as well as the sports drinks. They benefit my Wife and Son the most. They used to get sick the first day at Lake Powell eery year, on the first day. Not anymore. My daughter and I aren't affected as much, but we still take them. We buy a big box of them.

Interesting, because there is so little of each electrolyte in those pills, I am not sure how it could help. Notice the percentage of daily value for each electrolyte is such a small amount. Maybe a little goes a long way. To put it in perspective, most magnesium pills are 400mg. Those have 12 mg. Usually you need a fair amount of sodium to replace what you lose in sweat. There are no sodium in those.

I surfed behind a brand new RZX3 this morning. A theoretically "low CO" boat. After an hour, I had CO symptoms. Obviously I am sensitive, but the fumes made me feel like ***. I have FAE on my Tomcat and no problems.

I've not had any fume issues with my '15 AVX boat.

@dakota something is different on the rzx boats, they could use an FAE, but on the 12 Z3, and 15 AVX, never a whiff.

I never noticed any fumes on my Z3 when listed. Now evenly weight with a Nauticurl I notice it.

If you can smell exhaust when you're riding or even sitting on the back of the boat then you're breathing dangerous fumes.
This is likely true. However, NOT smelling fumes does not mean its safe as Co is oderless, colorless and tasteless. Dont get sucked into a false sense of security.

Thanks for the link. I will get some of those as well and they can try them out. I'm not sure at what frequency they take the electrolyte pills, but the directions are pretty liberal. Take 2 tablets as needed with full glass of water. May be repeated every hour as needed. Do not exceed 20 tablets in 24 hours. Do not give to children under 12 years of age. So 10 servings would give you 120 mg of magnesium.

@ragboy this was an FAE-less loaner as the normal RZX is in for leaking of some ballast bags. They're getting replaced. The owned boat has the surf pipe and zero fumes.

It was pronounced. I felt crappy.

Also, dang the Raptor is loud in these hulls. In @rensink Z3 is was so smooth and quiet. In the loaded RZX3 it is a loud mofo! Interesting to bite also that Z3 had no surf pipe.
