I have a 2005 24V and had engine stalling problems recently with a MP 6.0L with about 100hrs. My dealer (Skiers Wharf Extreme at Lake of Ozarks) told me that it is a well known problem with the fuel system heating up and causing vapor locks.
The service manager and owner both said that they have had many problems with the 6.0 but the 5.7L was solid.
I asked (just once) if an engine swap could be done. The owner said they would call Marine Power. Within a couple of weeks they had it done. To say the least that is very impressive.
I am a couple of hours away from the dealer and had a chance to get there today. The new motor looks great and there is a lot more room for air flow. They will also be replacing the prop to match the new engine.
The problem has been fixed and I have a fresh engine with a new warranty.
It has been said many times on this forum that the dealer makes all the difference. Obviously I have not been happy with the problems that have occurred with this new boat, but my dealer has been there for me. And in this case, in a big way...
