Dude, that is a ton of lead! Well...at least a half ton!
Good point, it does happen! I would chalk that up to not ever having seen a proper clean wave....most likely.
I guess my point was the other extreme--people using ideal angles showing massive waves longer than a summer day and claiming surfing 30' back etc etc etc. (I could be guilty of this).
When in reality pictures don't mean diddly squat with regard to actual wave quality/strength. Especially unreliable when comparison shopping boats.
Example: 21' Supra my friend owns puts out a very pretty wake. We really thought we had something. Until we tried to surf it. Was a mushy--but beautiful--failure.
With that in mind, check out this wave guys!
(disclaimer: not mine, an MB B52 21 I helped put Goose Slappers on--not too bad, but haven't surfed it)
Got it, I am not opposed to extra weight. ;-) With the RZX3, we had stock, plus the 550s, then 200 lbs of lead in the front. More didn't make it better IMHO, then we replaced the 550s with the stock P&Ps (about 400) and added 150 of lead to each side.
