    Air lock after changing fuel filter

    Anybody know if there is a way to bleed air out after changing fuel filter? Boat runs but after turning it off won't start again. Removed the filter a couple times and it would start but now can't get it to start.

    The fuel pump will take care of the air/pressure issue. You need to test your fuel pressure to make sure your pump is working right

      What is your make and model of the engine? On most there are 2 fuel pumps a high and low.

        Sorry, i was working off my phone yesterday and had no cell signal. So here is what I've done. I read that we needed to prime the fuel system by turning the key on and off letting the pump run while pressing the pressure valve in on the fuel rail. We did that and couldn't get anything. We couldn't hear the pump running while doing this either. We pulled the fuses and everything looked fine. Pulled the main fuse and it looked fine. Put it back in tried it again and heard a completely different sound that i'm assuming was the fuel pump. We pushed the valve in and had lots of pressure - fuel spraying out. Thought maybe the fuse may have been loose. Backed the boat in the water and it started right up. I let it run a minute and turned it on and off a couple times. I thought maybe it was working. Launched the boat and it died and wouldn't start again. I pulled the fuel filter loose and it was only about half full and no pressure up top. Tried everything again and no luck. Never could get pressure again or get that noise again which i'm assuming was the high pressure pump. Oh yeah, when i had the fuel filter off i held my thumb on the on the bottom of where the filter screw in and turned the key on. Could feel a little suction there. I'm assuming it's probably a fuel pump issue. Plan on taking back to the dealer this week to have the check it out. It just drives me nuts that we couldn't fix it ourselves! Any other suggestions?

          Forgot to mention I have the indmar M60 415 hp engine.

            Are you putting any fuel into the filter before you re-install? I always fill as much as I can safely to help the prime...just a thought, tho more likely you have a fuel pump issue
