Taps 3 not working

Hopefully you got going yesterday! Make sure your dealer updates the firmware next time you are in so we can access certain things. That older software locks everyone out in the case of a problem in the R series systems.

Never made it out yesterday to many beers but got out this morning and it was what you said. I really appreciate it.

Taps 3 not working

Am having same problem today taps 3 stopped working and there is a noise coming from tower speakers 2017 r21e. What was the fix for this

Well thought we had the Taps 3 figured out but it is acting up and not working again today. If you recently had your firmware updated make sure surf settings are below 8 and your speed is above 10.8 but today no matter what I did it would not kick in

I'm having a similar issue. 2016 Z3. Surfed Sun morning for a couple hours. went in for a few hours. went back out and taps3 was not engaging. just bow up and plowing.
put it back on the hoist for the day. tried surf demo mode yesterday and the taps3 worked. went out to test and it was working. came back in to pick everyone up and it wasnt working again.
resorted to listing it to 8 degrees for the rest of the evening. its both sides too that are not working, not just one or the other. still troubleshooting with Tige.

Well I took mine out last night and it all worked again. So my sequencing was turn on batteries turn touch screen on started motor and Motored out put in neutral selected surf left with surf on 1 and center taps on 4 speed set at 11 let the ballast fill and away I went and everything worked. I am pretty sure this has always been my method but who knows. I am still taking in to the dealer today I was trying to get them just to come up to me so they can see what I see.

If you load it up and with people, and the boat is plowing and not able to get into plane and or to speed 11mph plus it's going to have the affect of not working.

I believe this could be true in some extremely loaded cases.
When my Taps3 didnt work last we only had 2 adults and 2 children on board.
Last night it worked but earlier it didnt so my condition is intermittent.
Still troubleshooting with Tige. They have been great with immediate, direct response!

Did you figure out the problem mine acted up again yesterday it worked in the morning then I took a guy out that has an MB to show him how nice the wave was and the TAPS 3 wouldn't engage. I started all systems up the same all adjustments when the boat was at rest so I don't get it I guess its another trip to the dealer.

if you have a bad pdm (taps 3 brain) the surf test might pass but under way with load on the plates, the taps 3 could be doing or not doing all kinds of funny things. if there is no sealant behind your taps3 actuators, water can creep up the lines, into the actuator body, and into the pdm.

Thanks for the info the dealership called me yesterday late in the day said everything worked sitting on the trailer. I guess they are going to put it in the water today but I really think if it hasn't been in the water for a long period of time its like you said the water is creeping up the lines.

When they talked to me yesterday they talk to me like I am doing something wrong so I asked if there is a tutorial because I never received a manual or anything from them when I bought the boat brand new. I guess that's my fault for not saying anything when I got it but all I have is the bank paperwork and the indimar paperwork that came in the mail later. No stereo paperwork had to have that sent to me I am a paper guy and would read through all that stuff I like to know all the ins and outs. Half way home after picking it up I realized nobody handed me keys luckily they were the boat. No real walk through in the boat either but I take some blame in that I was just excited to get it home should have pushed this stuff more.

Hmmmmm....can someone post pics of how water "creeps" up the lines and how it can screw things up? Reason I ask is that I have a little water dripping in from where a line comes into in the transom, right above the rudder. It looks like a TAPS line of someo sort. I have been meaning to put some sealant in it but wasn't sure exactly which sealant I should use.

My 2016 Z1 Won't surf on right. The left plate was replaced during the winter (last one came apart at the weld). All works fine in demo mode. But does not work under load with full ballasts. Left side surf no problem. Bilge had quite a bit of water in it from a leaky cover. Wondering if that may have shorted something out. But why would it work in demo but not under load???

I am going out to test again dealer tested on trailer and took on water but did not fill ballast said did fine. I went out last night full rear ballast 55% front me my wife brother in law and 2 kids and that wave would not clean up and it didn't feel like taps3 was kicking in.
