Taps 3 not working

So was out this morning trying to surf and the taps 3 doesn't seem to be working checked connections and tried turning batteries off to reset system still not working. Any suggestions.

Well after being on the phone with dealer looks like no surfing this weekend my buddy who is trying to decide between tige or nautique isn't going to be impressed.

It worked before I took it in for its break in service now doesn't work.

Don't get me wrong love the boat but I also have stereo static I hope a broke. Shaft isn't next

I guess you and your friend dont keep up with Nautique. They say if you have to explain the joke, it wasnt that funny. Just forget my post, move along, nothing to see here

Nautique has been plagued with breaking shafts, even after going to a size larger, and not the 2017's have audio issues after switching to JL amps. If you friend is turned off by your TAPS=3 not working after returning from service, he wont be buying a nautique or any other boat for that mater.

Nautique has been plagued with breaking shafts, even after going to a size larger, and not the 2017's have audio issues after switching to JL amps. If you friend is turned off by your TAPS=3 not working after returning from service, he wont be buying a nautique or any other boat for that mater.

I hear ya. He was just ready to surf and I was telling him how good the wave was then no worky but we may know the problem will put it to the test later tonight.

Fellow 2016ers with static. Mine did that as well. Just took the faceplate off the amp and turned down the gains a bit. I'm sure a real stereo person could offer something else but that worked well for me

Yep, overly high gain settings can raise the noise floor and omit gain hiss or static. Especially from HLCD tower speakers, which are like 10X more sensitive than a coax. Poorly seated or a bad RCA can allow noise. Unplugging and replugging an RCA with system on can short the ground shield, allowing noise. Added components like blue tooth, SAT or even a USB charge port that are not wired right, can allow noise in. Depth finders, trim tabs and throttle motors can create unwanted noise.

Step is figuring out where in the signal path, the noise is entering.

Very rarely is the noise a result of a piece of audio gear. In most cases, its installation or tuning.

Don't rely on tige to install the stereo properly from the factory. Mine came with the right/left channels swapped, a bunch of fm noise, gains all wacky...It will take a bit of time with an rta o(r rta app) to get it back into the zone.

RE: Taps 3. Lots of problems from the factory there too. I put a ton of hours of troubleshooting, its. been 2 months, on my 3rd trip to the dealer and I still don't have a working taps 3. That system is so complex it could be a million things but unfortunately i'm learning! pm me for details, i can help you see if you cant isolate the problem or "trick it" to get by this weekend.

Hopefully you got going yesterday! Make sure your dealer updates the firmware next time you are in so we can access certain things. That older software locks everyone out in the case of a problem in the R series systems.

It was what you said the surf went back to factory when they disconnected the batteries and once I lowered that and got up to speed everything kicked in. Thanks
