20170520_005703068_iOS.jpgHi. I've gotten this error several times recently. I've been able to resolve by cycling the house power. However last night it would reconnect. Pushing the green check to "restart" does nothing. Basically I have no audio whatsoever since there is no head unit on the 2017s. The dealer said it's a software glitch and Tige is working on an update. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this?

I've gotten this a few times after trying to hook up a satellite radio receiver through the Aux input RCAs. I was able to correct by putting it back to factory and making sure nothing is connected to the Aux jack when turning it on.
This new system is turning out to have a few bugs in it - are you having the sound clipping/cutting at volumes less than 10 on the TT?
If you follow my thread ('17 Z3 on the way) there should be some fixes coming soon for the stereo issues (and hopefully this media connection error issue)

For me, it was the usb connection between the TT and the control unit, it was stretched too tight and not fully connected. I ended up routing it through where my heater passes through to remove the tension, an no media connection errors since then. If you don't have a heater hose pass through, you might have to drill a hole.
Never did get a good solution to the dropping at low volume, that still happens.

There's a usb connection up underneath, pretty close to where it passes through the bulkhead, on the helm side. Mine was wrapped in electrical tape and had moisture in it. Take the tape off, be sure it's dry, and for me, I had to squeeze the female side together a bit -- it's a bare female usb end, not enclosed in plastic like a normal extension.
I still had to reroute mine -- even removing the zip tie didn't take enough tension off keep it from coming back. I think there was even a Tige-directed fix to drill a new hole for a more direct path -- my heater hose just happened to be in the right spot.
I think I got this pic from KoolAid back then, this is basically on your back on the floor looking straight up behind the helm:
