That's what it means. Same boat, same wave more or less. It has a pickle fork bow and a different name. That's about it I believe. Maybe there is some subtle differences but they're not major.

Ok thanks Dakota that's what I was looking for. So I have found a few 09 22ve which I like and will be looking at closely when I am ready. Unless I see a 09 24ve in the meantime. I do like the extra room in the 24 but I don't think we will actually need it so the 22 will still be awesome. I think that the pcm engine and the alpha z in the 09 22ve are gonna win
me over the 08 24ve. But again, that is unless I see a 09 24ve that I like before I am ready.

Good scenario no matter what happens. All are great performers!

Based on the price of $40-45K that you posted over on WW, I am doubting you will score up a clean 2009 24Ve for that. There clearly not that many of them around. This time of the year, you have to be ready to make a move on any clean boat that is priced right, they most likely will not stay on the market long. For your budget, I would start hinting down the best '09 22Ve that you can find in the colors you lime and get it. You should also have room in that budget then for some upgrades (prop, ballast,FAE...). I dont know if you were looking to get on the water this year or not, but if you are, this is my advice to you.

Yeah I have found a few 09 22ve that I like and have decided that's what I want and am trying to get. I have also planned out all the upgrades that I am going to do. I will be hopefully getting something in the next week or two.

I know that red RZ4 its at our lake in primo condition. If i where you i would offer them your budget and see what they say you might be surprised.

For my budget I would have to offer a lot lower than the asking price, so unless you know that he really needs to sell and would consider very low offers, i don't want to make an insulting offer because its a nice boat. Do you guys think i should a least try or not?

Which wave would be better? 09 RZ4 or 09 22ve. Let me know your thoughts on this one and thanks again everyone!

My brother has an 11 RZ4, I have a 06 24ve and I've spent time in a friends 22ve. The waves are similar if set up correctly. My brothers RZ4 can be a monster wave with the correct weight and his suck gate. My wave is less steep than his on my 24ve, but it's mostly personal preference on how you set it up. Dude either the RZ4 or 22VE will be able to produce an excellent surf wave. It's all about set up, and you can find a ton of threads here on set up for both boats you mentioned.

Here's a pic of my surf wave, 750's in each rear locker, 500 under the port side long bench seat, both front bags full approx 250 each and a suck gate on the boat. Speed is about 10.7 or so. I like a longer wave personally, so that's how I set the boat up. You can get a similar wave from either the RZ4 or 22ve.

Thanks akdoc I know how to setup them up as I have seen all the threads I just wanted to make sure they would get me a good wave as I haven't seen much from the rz4. Thanks again
