Thanks for all the responses.. I've ended up just towing to the lake, and around the lake on the swim platform. The first time I used a ratchet strap, then I found some heavy duty bungee cords with closing carabiners on the ends. They are yellow so they match the boat. Just run it through the middle of the roll and hook it to each lifting eye. As for now we haven't had an issue with it being in the way for any boarding because a couple other buddies that always cove with us went to sams and bought some too. We just strap all three together end to end and the kids play endlessly and the mommies are a lot happier that way. When somebody wants to board, we grab the rope that's hooking the pad island to the boats and just move it to whatever boat is gonna stay anchored... it's worked great so far...
