    Planet Nautique

Has anyone seen this thread at Planet Nautique? What are your thoughts? They are obviously biased but how much is fiction?

      Biased?

How could you say they are biased!

Most of that is crap talking, owner goggles.

You will find that Nautiques are generally made very well though, and will hold their value. I don't know of anyone that will say they aren't well made.

But taking that point to excess and saying that tiges aren't well made is B.S.

All boats have their fans and all boats have their share of problems. The biggest reason I wouldn't buy a Nautique is that our local dealer, Sail & Ski, really sucks. Every time I've taken my jet skis or previous boat there for service, I ended up with more problems than I started with.

I love reading comments like this.......
i havent rode a tige but all the people i talked to at a clinic said there wake was garbage

And more generally, you could not give me a Tige. Literally, I have had this conversation with my wife. In this theoretical la-la land, if someone offered me a free Tige 22 outright but forced a clause into it that said I had to use it and ride behind it an appreciable amount of water time, had to practice my tournament pass behind it, and couldnt shirk out and just ride on our 2001 or SAN, I would say no thank you. I know of several pros destroying their Tiges in an effort to get a good wake out of it. I normally try to be pretty neutral, due to my Web sites and my work with wakeboarder.com, but Tige is the one manufacturer that I have no use for, whatsoever.
So two votes from 2 idiots.....one wouldnt take a free boat, and one has never been in a Tige' and knows they are crap. Good stuff!

It is nice to see that all Nautique owners are not complete idiots. Anyone that says Tiges are complete pieces of crap have obviously never owned, been it or riden behind one. Some Nautique guys are a different breed for sure. If it is not a Nautique then it is a piece of crap and that goes for Supra, Malibu, Tige and so on. It was nice to see some Nautique owners saying positive things about Tige. In my opinion, I would not own a CC over a Tige. I have a 21i and my friend has a 216 Nautique. Both are about the same size boat. Unweighted or partially weighted my wake is WAAAAAY better than his. The only time his is better is if there is about 2,000 pounds in his boat. In addition, the fit and finish in the Tige is better. Sorry Nautique guys!!

the clown that won't take a tige for free is a huge nautique fanboy and a moderator over @ wakeboarder.com. I've read his crap for years.

I like Nautique, but the dealer around here is very proud of them.

I'm glad that he discussed it with his wife. That was really important for us to know. I suppose she is an authority on the issue.

A guy who has never been in one, but wouldn't take one for free because of his knowledge of it...

Another feather in the cap of why I never read WBer.com. Always thought the site was made up of tools, and the fact that kook is a Mod there, solidifies that statement. Any day of the week, I will run the wake of my unmolested Tige', against any similar year Natty, and don't forget the box of tissues. Straight outta the box, there is nothing to compare. The only thing I like about the Natties are the electric hatches and the battery placements-big woop. Other than those two little things, they have nothing over Tige. I'm in a 2001 and I have a close friend with a 2001 Natty, and hands down, my wake is just S I C, over his. Even children know which wake is superior, because they tell us all the time, which and whose is better. That's what cool about kids, they speak without BS. Talk is cheap, especially on the ole Internet. Eff, I will take a 16' Basstracker, if it were free......

I've never been behind a Naut, but every wake I have seen, my 21i is so much better. And for surfing, I had it barreling with just five people in the back and no sacks full. I mean each to his own. I love my tige and wouldn't trade it for anything, plus I don't feel like paying that much for a boat. You pay for the name on the naut. I have a friend who has a 99 naut, and he likes my wake so much better, not too mention he had to replace all of his interiour last year. Now maybe that's just due to how we take care of our boats. My boat looks good as new, except for one seam that is ripping that will be fixed this winter!!

I was out on Tahoe yesterday and had just finished a surf set with just four people and no ballast. No problem. A buddy of mine who is a former Diehard Nautweeker (lost boat in divorse) happened to be out on the water in his new boat (hand me down Rinell) and had spotted us. Funny because he had just been talking about our boat earlier in the day. He said he had been out that morning on a clients brand new 23'Bu and were trying to surf it. Nnnnnnno! Anyways, he had brought up to his buddies that "You should surf behind my buddies Tige. That thing's got the best wake around." I had to appologize that I couldn't give them a pull (or a push ) as we were just heading back to the ramp.

                      Signed,
                      Love my Tige

There were also some thoughtful answers! I eliminated Eric's opinion b/c it was over the top, didn't mention anything concrete except for the wakeboard wake which we don't care about.

I totally agree with the planetnautique site being a bit crappy in comparison to this site. The only regret I have from moving from Tige to CC are the Tige owners (you guys rock). I think a big difference in owners here is that you guys always give the pros and cons about all boats and try not to put down other brands. This is something I've embraced and will hopefully continue to not bash other boat brands, especially Tige.

She was gonna, but before everything was finallized, he found a buyer, took it, sold it and gave her half the money, without her knowing about it. Unfortunatly for him, he sold it to his neighbor and he has to see it in the driveway everyday. Oh well, at least she didn't get to keep it, the Biotch.
