    Unnofficial Tige Reunion

Was out on Lake Havasu this morning and there were 10 Tiges enjoying the southern part of the lake. I believe I passed Zany. We were pulling a boarder heading south, they were pulling a boarder heading north. Everywhere we turned were Tiges.

Then headed up to the London Bridge and saw 5 more. Some beautiful boats out today.

Heard one might have sunk today. When we were pulling off the lake about 1 pm I heard a call on the rangers radio saying that a Tige was swamped by the power station.

Will find out next week when we go back.

Taught my daughters boyfriend how to board today. He had some teriffic falls.
    Let it be!!!

Jim...we were out last week and had the same general experience...It's nice to see all the Tiges there... I can't imagine why your daughter's boy toy took so many hard falls. You did tell him it is customary to wakeboard at 34 mph didn't you???

We'll be back out in two weeks for a weekend visit... I always enjoy the fall trips at Havasu...most of the crazies are gone as the school year starts...

We were out this weekend with "smachfam" (05 24v with black main panel) and had a great time.

We did run into a squall on Thursday afternoon, like I have never seen before at Havasu. Within 30 minutes the wind chop jumped the waves up to three to four feet high. Unluckily that day we picked up a cove that was unprotected from that much wind and had to quickly exit back to Havasu Springs Marina.

It felt like we were on Lake Mead.

Thats my boat - 05 24V black main panel. I saw 4 of 5 with black main panels. Saw a VE with your colors and xplosion tower. Thought it was you.

We will be back there this weekend to install the fresh air exhaust and work on the house since I decided to go on the lake all three days.

Very surprised on how light traffic was Sunday afternnon driving home as we made it in the normal time of 4 hours. Hardly anyone was on the road.

Its also amazing how her boy toy was talking smack about he could outlast my daughter on the tube. My daughter only comes off if the tube is upside down. That boy should become a fish by all the time he spending in the water

Next weekend she gets to go quad riding with his family. Hopefully she does not try anything stupid.

We had the same good fortune driving home.

What Marina do you launch from?

Always launch out of Cattail Cove. We board from there down to the bouys at the refuge going past the pumping station and the dam.

Usually there is good water. Occaisonally we will pull into Havasu Springs to eat.

We like Cattail because its less crowded as most people want to be up by the bridge and the coves fill up last.

It's funny, even though we stay at the Islander, we always seem to end up at the south end... The water is generally warmer and always better at the south end.

Definately the water is warmer which is a plus. I took my boat up to Topcock on Sunday. (Those shallow areas freak me out). Water was cold!!

They actually put a no wake zone now going through the gorge which was not there two weeks ago. Did not expect that. It was almost worse with all the boats going slow. They are actually thinking of making the sand bar area a no wake zone also.

I heard about the no wake zone but haven't been up there since earlier this summer when we had our near death experience with our prop right at the mouth of the river. At our last trip the water appeared to be down about 18 inches so I didn't have the "fortitude" to give it a try... That new Acme prop sitting in the box seems to be just waiting for an opportunity to fly free...but I'm not in a hurry to get it out!!!

A friend from covina told us about the no wake zone and expressed similar comments that he wasn't sure if it was safer with the no wake zone or worse... Sounds like it is from elbow to elbow from the left had turn after the sand bar to the right hand turn at devil's elbow?

That is correct, elbow to elbow. Its kind of like going through the channel. Boats stopping, turning around, not paying attention. Wasnt really that crowded, hate to see it on a crowded weekend.

I had a new prop, but we put it on a friends boat when he hit a submerged tree in one of our favorite coves 2 weeks ago. I forgot about that. Glad we had no problems.

I guess in the grand scheme of things, not many die in no wake zones as compared to the no speed limit stuff that we have seen through there... Fortunately we normally go through very early in the morning before the mobs and are usually coming back before as well... So it goes...
