How close to center of the boat, is the cable spool?

No....that cradle was installed in my neighborhood marina a week ago...I used to keep it at a marina across town renting a slip on a Hydrohoist...I paid to have this aluminum cradle with new cabling just put in....I literally pulled out of dry storage, and put in water...noticed after taking family for first ride, and putting up.....that pole in the middle has a ton of room....I'm telling you, I'm baffled

Well, dropped off at dealer for steering cable replacement and to look at the tower....service manager thinks it is just the paint....he is going to take off the light lenses to examine closely....he agreed it was in a strange spot, nothing could likely strike it....just strange that neither they nor I noticed when putting up for winter(they changed impeller, fluids, etc)...would something not have to be stressing, or any of you have an alpha z with paint issues?

There has been powder coat bonding issues, yes. Like mike said earlier it comes off in chunks and sheets. Usually powder coats cracks like that when its stressed. Like gel.

Any chance you tow tubes from the tower? And of course, you have no idea what stresses may have been placed on the tower during the first 40 hours....
              Good luck,

Despite some dealer order sheets calling for powder color choices, tige went away from powder a few years ago. I would double check your specific boat.

I know for a fact 2014 towers were powder coated as I had to have done repaired.

Sadly, that crack is in the perfect fulcrum point where the upper section turns aft. It there's going to be a crack, thats a logical spot. Low bridge, hitting roof or lift in wet slip, support structure for try-racked boats, etc. Any of these hitting the tow point, could result in this. I would speculate that it happened awhile back and just now showing up as the powder coat cracked.

Little ticked at the dealer as it has been there 2 weeks and they have not even removed the lense to look at it. I sent them an email yesterday......they claim to be getting on it this week. i bought the boat with 39 hrs on it.....never showed any signs of the above, nor has it ever hit anything......up until my new slip, was on a hydrohoist with zero clearance issues.......that being said i had the dealer change all fluids and impeller in December.......can't say i completely checked over the boat when picking up.....never one to point fingers, but i've always babied it.......we will find out very soon.

Is this servicing dealer the same your purchased from? If so, I would be terribly upset at their delay. If not, this is why everyone states to purchase with your supporting dealer. A nother dealer will sometimes "penalize" you for not purchasing from them instead of using it at an opportunity to show how they can service and gain a client.

                            Jarrod-
Have they completed steering cable job without checking on your tower or did they push that off as well?? Regardless, that is a pretty ridiculous delay. Pretty sure taking the lense off requires a #2 Phillips and a couple minutes....More Time spent uncovering and recovering boat than actually working. It's always hard to tell while couch quarterbacking from phone pics, but it really looks like cracks in the powder coat. Hopefully it's not the tower also.

Thanks guys....this is the same dealer I bought the boat from..they've done all service and even added 2 more rev 8's they installed....they've done nothing for 2 weeks....I'll likely have a visit with the owner this week

Good luck. I left Tige for a bit, had the other boat serviced through that dealer. When I picked up a used Tige out of state, my dealer welcomed me back and has taken good care of me. One of the Supreme/Centurion dealers is try to get my service business just to prove they are a quality dealer and possibly earn my next boat business. We are lucky to have dealers near that believe service will sell more boats. Maybe let your dealer in on this "secret"
