Fresh Air Exhaust (FAE)...any interest in another GROUP buy this month?
SuperSam would take us to a "confirmed" 5 people then.
Like I was saying the other evening....I own 2 brands now, Tige and Centurion (actually 3 till I sell my Sea Ray soon, lol) so I have some friends that ride Centurions. I assume no one would have issue with me bringing a few other people into this buy to guarantee that we receive the $70 off by having at least 7 orders thru FAE? Just wanna be sure I wont offend anyone....if you are good with that Daniel (since you made this happen)...I can let them know and should easily be able to get 2-3 Centurion owners to jump on this by next week when the group buy ends. Please advise tonight if you do NOT want me to do that and out of respect, I will not. Glad this happened, really looking forward to getting my system.
What is everyone's opinion on the baffles? I ordered without but questioning my decision.
I ordered without as well... I can't imagine they are necessary... my last boat I ran without any baffles of or flaps on the back for a while and never had an issue even when parked on the water with waves bashing into the back. Just my opinion/experience.
FAE says that most people run without them and they think its fine and that they know of, its never been an issue. They only recommend doing it to preserve engine warranty for a worst case senario.
The other thing is, that about the only time engine will actually suck water into it....is if the motor "diesels" (runs in reverse)....and on modern engine, don't think that can even happen. Pretty sure that is only possible on carburated engine (tho I may be wrong here as I am not a mechanic).
Either way...I know they say its not needed as I asked on my boat. Mine actually does not matter cause I have a flapper that is built in-line...so I have one regardless.
Thanks for putting this together everyone and for sending me a PM reminder. I just submitted my order to Christina today. I didn't sent it through the website since they may have a mounting option that will allow us to use the mounting screws for the TAPS plate. She suggested that I submit my measurements and photos direct to her. With luck, she will confirm that I made the group buy.
Thanks again, cannot wait to get this installed on the boat.
Me too, hear so many great things about FAE system! I have 2 Rev10's on my tower and was planning to order 2 more this summer....now I am gonna wait tho as it may be plenty loud when surfing with the FAE helping to quiet it down back there.
FYI....Your order today, would be confirmed 10 orders. So we definitely all get the discount. She actually mentioned to me this morning that she will likely extend it thru the 18th, which is Saturday...so if anyone stumbles on this, long as you call her by 18th (better by 17th to be safe), place the order and give your CC number....you will get the $70 discount.

They do have that option. I put it on my 2006 22VE and glad I did, it is solid! it took a bit of messing around and a small amount of bending to get the brackets just right, but once its on, its on for good. I had to bend the brackets upwards to allow the taps plate to move all the way up. PM me if you want some advice, I had to get larry to send me some longer brackets as the first bunch he sent were too short.
I finally pulled the trigger on this. Every time there has been a group buy I have debated it. Thanks for setting this up and hoping it is all its cracked up to be.

Killerbren - It was actually your posting of this a while back that triggered me to ask Christina about it. All it required was a few pictures to be sent with my measurement sheet (I ordered a 1 piece Y). They evaluated it and confirmed that it was doable.
For those of you that ordered or are considering ordering, I would suggest asking about the "Trim Tab Hinge Mount". From what Killerbren posted before and what Christina as stated, this sounds to be a very good way to go. Easy installation, clean look and from Killerbren's comment above, very solid. Hopefully I will have the same thoughts after installing mine.
A question for the rest that have installed FAE: Did you end up keeping the original exhaust flaps in place? I debated about adding them, but didn't and it sounds like in some situations, the factory ones can stay in.
Check this out Killerbren, the folks at FAE have a new trim tab mount. Straight price of stainless pipe and a separate bracket for the mount. WAY easier to install than the welded L brackets. Just installed them on my buddies 20V. Gonna get a set for my 22VE. IMG_4046.jpgIMG_4047.jpg
