    Surf Capt,

Gut says you dont have an amp issue and your dealer is swapping out good parts as a guess. One amp swapped and now 2nd is not working, sounds like installer-induced issue to me.

Before you flame Tige and amp manufacturer, lets see what the root cause is and what the fix is. One Wet Sounds amp failure is soooo rare, two on the same boat, does not add up.

      Hey Cooper,
Please keep updating us here. We have a customer who's having the same problem on an RZ2. His boat was in the shop today and I got a chance to plug in my rca into each channel on both amps. Seems like it's going to be a wetsounds fix. Found that I could stop the clipping from happening at 10 master volumes by not Bluetoothing and using aux cord with phone output maxxed...but that was also only making the clip move from 10 master volume down to 8, then problem would show back up...obviously keeping all your zones maxed helps. customers tower zone was turned down lower than in boats so all 4 rev-10s would start to drop out while in boats would keep playing.

        Will do, happy to help.

Chpthril, forgot to post the pictures you asked for, here's the wiring:

The replacement amp held up last weekend, no buzzing our squealing. Now we're just waiting for the tower speaker amp to get changed out and hopefully we'll be all set except for the cutting out below 20

Surf Captain- try running aux cord with your phone volume turned all the way up. was able to get volume cutout lowered to 10 so you can listen to tunes at a reasonable volume on a boat that was having the same issue here at our shop

Thanks!!! We'll try that this weekend. Word is that Tige has identified a bunch of bad amps from weg sounds and are shipping out replacements, so hopefully we'll all be jamming again soon.

Time for a wave critique -- let me know how I'm doing and what advice you can give to make the wave better, I think we aren't too far off.

                Settings:
--Surf XL 100% front and back
--500lbs iron plates (250 in each rear locker)
--Taps3 @ 6 (going any higher just started to wash things out, going down much lower seemed to cut overall height)
                --Taps2 @ 5
                --Speed 11.0

Yes, I'm wearing a dry suit over my life vest because yes, I'm a wimp when it comes to cold water, and no, I'm not a very good surfer, this is a cheap Hyperlite that we got when we first started that I've never been able to ride wireless. I'm 5'11" as a height reference.

                  pics? let's see it!

That sounds like a good setup, mainly just comparing to elevated setup.

                  What's the water temp?

Is the video not showing in my post? I can see it when I open the thread, I tried to link to vimeo...

Water temp was 60, air temp 55 when I was riding. With the dry suit, I'm comfortable down to 50/50, could probably push it a bit lower.

Here's a couple of still shots:

One issue finally fixed -- the media connection error. Thanks to Justin at Tige for explaining it and Michael at WWS for actually showing me where it's at.

The issue is the connection between the ICE box at the Touch. From the back of the touch, there is a set of 4 wires that bundle and head toward the bulkhead. Right at the bulkhead, it becomes a USB connection. The connection is taped, and there isn't much slack in the line. In my case, it was working itself loose under the tape and just barely hanging on, which made the error come and go.

I took the tape off (see pic) and added a short USB extension I had laying around to eliminate any tension. Full day on rough water yesterday, and no errors at all.

Now we just need a definitive fix for the DSP amp clipping...

Here's the pic, this is from the helm side, the bulkhead is to the left, the hull is the top and background of the picture:

I know some people were following this thread for the stereo issues, so wanted to provide an update. The media connection error was NOT fixed, at least for me -- it came back permanently, ad we haven't had music for about 3 weeks. I can only assume the harness is just trash (that open female USB end is a bad cable design, makes it easy for the wires to break their solder because the socket isn't encased) or the Murphy unit gave up for some reason.

I dropped off the boat Saturday afternoon after having the engine code all day (along with a list of little things, Zcline seat coming loose, trailer brakes still need some work, water temp sensor quit reading, minor things).

They also let me know -- there are two brand new amps on the way from Wetsounds for me with a new tune and reflashed, apparently specifically to fix the clipping issue - fingers crossed...

I'm off the water for a couple of weeks, so I told them to take their time and get it fixed, I'll report back!
