Well jut got off the phone with Ryan...he says Tige specifically does not require the full 24-29 degrees that is for MasterCraft and other boats. So the install will commence....after a large cup of coffee!

Well after 12 hours almost to the minute I have completed the bulk of the install! Just need to clean up some wiring and hit a few spots with some silicone on the inside. The install was pretty straight forward for the most part, a second set of hands is highly recommended if not required. The hardware, and fabrication on on all of this stuff is guaranteed to make even the picky welder smile. Depending on your install, be ready to use that stuff called geometry to solve angle problems. Ryan T GSA was invaluable and even called me a few times just to check on the progress. The transfer time is roughly 1 second from side to side but that's with no load on the tabs so I am sure will moving that will slow down slightly but overall the grander time is very smooth and fast. Used the wireless remote, it works out to about 50 feet behind the boat. Here are some pictures of the final product, unfortunately it will be 2 weeks at least before I can do a test run the weather has been sustained 30mph winds and supposed to rain the next 2 days.

Looks good! Can't wait to see your results in the water. I really considered it for the RZR before we bought our new boat but I think we would have had clearance issues with the smaller transom. It's gonna be like a new boat!

My Tomcat likes the tabs deployed at about 10*---so be sure to explore every bit of the range!

Jelous! Your setup looks awesome, been thinking of upgrading my RZ2 to GSA but was unsure if the low swim platform would allow it to work. Good to know it doesn't need the full 24 degrees, did Ryan explain why it's not needed on a tige? How was installing the controller, any pictures of where you placed it?

Officially done with the install. I should have bought stock in silicone but I am confident it won't leak now. Got all the wires hidden took some time but i spent the extra few hours when I did my ballast install earlier this year and ran all the wires in plastic wire wrap so was able to run the actuator wires inside that so it's a very clean install not 1" of wire is visable.

When I spoke to Ryan he said that as long as the tabs in the up position are above the hull line st least 10 degrees it should be fine. From what I can tell you get roughly 30 degrees of movement give or take a few degrees out of actuator (which is short 2.25" stroke). Since I don't run the boat full speed EVER, and cruise at around 25 when getting around which isn't usually more than 10 miles tops I focused more on getting the maximum down stroke and will sacrifice stowed up position angle to get it. However as Dakota said and Ryan Has told me that it's rare you will need all 12 degrees to get the ideal wave most boat were running 8-10 degrees for optimal wave performance. If this is the same case with me i will just adjust the lower bracket location to give me the ideal down angle and less down angle will give me more of a up (stowed) position.

I mounted the control panel on the starboard wall forward of the throttle and down a few inches (I'll post a photo). Mounted the "brain" of the unit next to the breaker panel under the dash and hid the wires with basic zip Ty's. Ran the GPS receiver up through the vent hose to the dash forward the wind shield and some good ol' velcro to secure it.

Power to the system was a bit tricky, as ChPtrhil pointed out there is power under the dash at the breaker box and a ground block. The ground block was easy enough to tap into, the positive side of things was a little more tricky. Hands down to Tige when they built the boat everything tidy and labeled easy to find everything, just wish they left a few spare inches of wire to safely tap power from. However that little breaker box has open ports (at least mine does) it said "heater" on the label.... I don't have a heater so now it's a GSA power point LOL. It's on the battery switch, so every time I flip the batteries on the GSA kicks on and runs as it should.

I will get some more pictures for ya'll!

Great looking install. Very interested in how it does. I'm considering it on my 2011 RZ2 next fall. Thanks for posting

Brad, are there spacers between the hinges and fiberglass??

Yes there are spacers between the hinges and fiberglass. There supposed to be used on boats with a transom that is not flat, you can shave the space to fit flush against the boat to allow for a flat area to mount the tab too. I found that with the 24Ve its about 1/8" off flat due to the slight cut out for the swimstep brackets to mount to the boat. I was limited on tools and equipment at the summer house so I decided to go a different route, instead of shaving the spacer to match the boat I went down to the autoparts store and bought rubber gasket material and made my own spacers and was able to cut the exact size and shape to fit behind the spacer to fill in the gap. (Other than me saying what I did, you would never see the difference). It worked very well and was able to lay a clean bead of silicon over the spacers and shims that you cant even see the shims. I was quite surprised when I ran the bolts through into the transom it stayed very flat and didn't bow at all. The hinge moves freely and there is not binding at all.

Ryan at GSA told me specifically that the piano style hinges they use can support a slight bend in them and still be functional. I wasn't comfortable having a bend in the hinge so I opted for the spacers.

Those tabs look small on the website, but look huge behind that boat. Looks like some decent displacement. This thread has seriously got me thinking...might just pull mine down to BHC and benefit from your experience...if I end up convincing the mrs. on the purchase.

By all means come on out to BHC, I will be happy to help with the install. Now that I know how it all mounts up and installs I could probably reduce the install time by half of what it took me.

The TABS are NOT small I would say they are roughly 20" long and about 12" wide (guesstimate) I was really surprised by the size when I opened the box. Let me know if you can get approval we can do the install in a day.
