Still waiting on many of you to order your T-Shirts... please.
Pam (my better half) has been helping me out quite a bit this year. She took it upon herself to look into the hotel rates for those not interested in camping (since the inn is sold out). The nearest hotel is the Hoover Dam Lodge (http://hooverdamlodge.com/). It's 47 miles away, or 52 minutes according to Google Maps. The rates for September 15-17 are currently at $112.94 (includes tax) a night. This is NOT a group rate and is good on all available rooms. Right now they have plenty of rooms available.
Hey guys and gals. I know I'm late to the party on this but my girl and myself were talking about trips for this year and she brought up she really wants to make this one. I know the rooms are all booked but is there still camping available? Also are you able to leave the boat anchored or docked over night near the camp sight? it would probably be just the 2 of us and 1 or 2 friends.
Welcome MtnMan210. We would love to have you join us. There are plenty of camp sites available. As far as docking the boat, it's one of only 2 places I feel completely safe leaving it slipped (we leave it in the water for the whole week when we are there). With so many other Tige Owners around, we all feel comfortable with it. However, it's not going to be close to your campsite or the hotel. It's a hike with the water level being so low. Most of us driveback and forth (1/4 mile, maybe 1/2) to our rooms or campsites. There is one owner who takes his boat out in the evening, so it's still an option. Looking forward to seeing you there.
Indeed Welcome MtnMan!! Rest Assured you will not be the only one in the campsite as there will be other Tige Owners there as well. I usually go out for a night session of surfing if your interested. I co-coordinate this event with DP Powell so please feel free to reach out with any questions. The slips are nice but they are short in length though when I had my 24ve I never had issues getting the boat slipped as long as you don't mind a few feet hanging out the back. I think its safe to say that everyone leaves their boats in the slips the entire weekend. I leave all my boards and gear in the boat without worry (unless DP Powell decides he wants to steal my Soulcraft)
Hope to see you out there.
My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"
