Increased participation, increased sponsors, and the need to book early to make sure we have max availability. We were originally looking at the following weekend, but there were already a few rooms booked. The hotel was wide open Sept. 15-17 and it didn't conflict with Surf Expo.

really want to attend this during one of the scheduled days but I can't book vacations that far out. never know what's going on. it looked to be a great time last year.
guess if I get over that way, it'll be a day trip again.

We (my better half and I) will make room for you if you are coming alone and want to stay longer.

your Always welcome with me SandM, and I got Go Surf Assist on the boat this year so the wave will be much better.

There are options to make that happen 007 if there is no room at Temple Bar Marina.

Speaking of that, for all those that see this and wish to attend and cant get a room at Temple Bar. There is a location about 50 min. away called "Hoover Dam Lodge" its a casino/hotel that overlooks Lake Mead. I have personally stayed there multiple times for other events and trips and its a nice location located just outside of Boulder City, NV. and IIRC the rates were decent and nice rooms it was remodeled and renamed a few years ago.

If you have your boat its up to you if you want to trailer back and forth everyday or just leave it at Temple Bar, personally I would leave it at Temple Bar and just commute back and forth to Temple bar. Its the only place I have ever felt 100% comfortable leaving boards, keys, GoPro's, etc. in the boat overnight while in the slip. This event books the entire resort so the only people there are Tige Owners.

Las Vegas Airport is just a short drive from Boulder City, and again Boulder City is a short drive to Temple Bar (just watch out for Cattle, Burros, and Rams on the road down to Temple Bar). We would NEVER turn away a fellow Tige Owner.

While I really enjoyed our first trip to Temple Bar last year, and am booked again for this year, I have to wonder why this place is picked? Is there no other hotel/motel on the water with more rooms? Sounds like there is enough interest to pursue more lodging. My family enjoys tent camping, but on an outing like this, a good nights sleep is very important to us. We wouldn't come if we didn't get a room. Other than that I think this place is perfect.

Great points Josh. We looked into it last year. As with anything, there are trade offs. We looked into Cottonwood Cove at Lake Mohave (even fewer rooms), Blue Water Casino in Parker (plenty of rooms, but less depth on the river so the wakesurfing wasn't going to be as good), and Nautical Inn at Lake Havasu (more rooms, much more expensive). To get a place on the water, where it's deep enough and everyone can afford a nice weekend, this was the best option in our eyes. I'm with you though, sure wish they had more rooms to accommodate more Tige owners!

The vegas peeps can confirm, but I dont think there are ANY other water front resorts. Access is now down to boulder and callville and a couple others but no resort or other facilities. We moved from Echo do to water closing down their marina. Overton arm dried up few years before, pushing us to echo. So in order to have a weekend event over just a day event, temple is about it.

I agree. Everyone can go out and not get in anyone's way.
                              Let it be!!!
