Thinking About A New Boat

Embellishing? Not at all. Lots and lots of info needed to make sure the parameters are correct for a TAB based surf system. LOTS.

I wasnt saying that deployed and stowed angle are separate things that need to be adjusted rather that those angles and positions are very important especially with hulls that don't have a flat transom like a 24VE. I think even the novice would understand that their is only so much stroke in an actuator lol.

You tend to be on this crusade for GSA which is all fine and dandy, really it is. The make some of the most awesome plates I have ever seen, I even called GSA and asked about the option on my boat. No one is bashing the specific system. Personally I don't have an allegiance to anyone except my friends thats it.

Like I said lets talk about ALL the systems, gates etc over a beer sometime rather then on here this probably isnt the place..... that didnt register... at all. So here goes again...

Roger that. Not on a crusade for GSA, more likely on a crusade against the notion that older, cheaper boats can't kick some serious ***, and its not that hard. The runaway boat price freight train is misleading people to a certain degree in this regard. Intertwined might be a crusade against GSA overcomplication. I really think theGerman has an install issue. I think he will work it out, I think. When I was considering GSA on my 24Ve prior to the F24, the swim platform brackets were absolutely an issue. If those have not been modified, I would seriously question the functionality of the setup. I think theGerman is going to explore that in depth. He also has been the victim of bad information along the way. Which really kind of sucks.

I can't just drink one beer, BTW. So I will grab a case.

Pray, tell, what is the the "set up" for the major gangsta leaned 24Ve?? (Save me some time searching)

The largest Enzo sacs possible in each side, and a 650 U-bag in the bow (I had 1800 left and 1600 right by my math). Lots of pumps for fill. Own 600# of lead for under the side seats and bow, and keep a 500# over the side bag around for small crew days and/or the bow. List that hog over to 15 degrees, drive 11.4-12, and behold the beauty.

If you want go full monty, make a duffy flap and trim the swim deck down.

Then, scare all your passengers with lean then delight them with a surf.

A case is awesome, maybe might need two. This will undoubtedly take place on a boat or two or three which means the surfers and non drivers will be drinking.

Wow! What a ride! We started looking at boats back in November. It was a crazy search. We test drove a Moomba Mojo, A Tige Z3, and an MB B52 23. We tried to test drive an MB F24 but the guy wouldn't let us. We also tried to test drive a 24ve, but it sold before we could get to it. Then we ended up pulling the trigger on a different 24ve which ended up getting sold out from under us. We were very sad about that one. We were very close to ordering a new R23e. I'm pretty sure I can tell you every Tige that is for sale from Washington to Texas. I've looked at all of them. Really liked a 2013 Z3 for $64k in Texas and was leaning that way when Mitch informed me of a 2013 MB F24 that just came up for sale in Bend OR. It was the right color, right size, 180 hours, and the price was almost $10k lower than the Z3. And it sparkled, a major requirement of my kids. We worked a deal and the seller agreed to meet us in Boise at Lake Lowell, which is just a mile or two from my aunts house. I sent him a $1000 deposit and told him to remove his ads. At that time my grandfather's estate in Eugene OR was finishing up and the lawyer had some hand made wood furniture (small items that my grandfather built) to give to me. He ended up taking it to the seller who would then bring it to me with the boat. We both got reimbursed through the estate for our travels to Boise!
We got to the lake Saturday morning and waited and waited. The seller was late and not answering his phone. I was getting a bit nervous. I didn't want to loose the boat, or my money, but mostly didn't want to loose my grandfathers possessions. Then he called me and said he was close, but I guess got lost trying to find the lake. Then he pulled up and we saw it! Beautiful boat! My kids were way more excited than I was, and I was pretty excited. We talked for a while then put it in the water. It ran great. No issues at all. I guess because it's so much bigger than we are used to it feels very slow in the water. My wife was driving and quickly got it up to 34 mph at about 5200. I asked her to back it off a bit and she was surprised that we were going so fast. Even my kids didn't notice the speed. They are usually pretty quick to tell me to slow down. Usually well under 30mph. It was a done deal. We signed papers and dropped the seller off at the dock for his drive back home. Then we went out and played for a couple more hours. We were expecting Lake Lowell to be freezing, but it wasn't. It was already at 68-70*. I forgot my ballast pumps so we could't run extra weight, and I couldn't get my suckgate to stick to the boat down low. So we ended up just listing it with stock ballast. About 1200 pounds. Just like that it made a very surfable wave that my oldest daughter was having fun on. I didn't get in the water. Been sick the last week or so.
I was really worried about towing the boat. It is so much bigger than my old 21v. The truck handled it easily. No issues there, other than getting 14.3 MPG for the trip home, running 70mph the whole way. I got 15 mpg on the last long trip with the 21v.

So we're no longer Tige owners. I hope you don't mind if I stick around. It is still very true about Tige owners being the best people. What a great site. My kids keep asking me about the reunion, thinking they can't go anymore. Maybe we'll just crash it now!
