I edited, sorry Chp! I never surfed my F24 without GSA. It was the first thing I added after it arrived at my home.

I researched the heck out of what I was going to get, and for that kind of money adding GSA to an MB made the most sense.

Looks like the new Tomcats are using GSA from the factory, or at least their tabs look pretty similar. Got any video of your surf wave?

They are GSA tabs--MB licensed the technology from them. I think MB makes them, but they're GSA design. The controller is MB's.

I was curious how the new F24 surfed listed as compared to the 24ve. Ive surfed a few older MB hulls (2012's to 2014's) listed and felt the wave was great. However, "crushed" would not be how I would compare it to a 24Ve. Adding something like the GSA would certainly take any boat to a different level. A 24ve with TAPS-3 or GSA could certainly have the potential of crushing a listed 24Ve.

Agree with that. This is running a TON of weight, well, actually a little over 2.5 tons [emoji41]. That along with the GSA tabs is what makes the difference. The listed 24Ve was excellent. I think it's more of a categorical difference than a difference in hulls when the boats are set up so differently.

              If that makes sense.

In the end, it comes down to weight..any way you look at it. My Z3 throws a great wave with full sacks and about about another 800-1000 pounds of weight (people or lead). Without that extra weight, I can't even let go of the rope...although my kids have no issues.

Which I guess is the reason for going to the RZX models. Specifically, you can get a great wave with or without people and/or lead and without killing all your storage.

Anyways, anything big and heavy will throw a wave....some just do it with less hassle

Its all personal choices but i dont really know how you can prefer an MB surf wave.. i tried a B52 tomcat for almost 3days and yes its a really good boat. Personally the best for the buck boat. Really solid, good interior, really good looking. It was my No2. The surf wave is monster when you take the big ballast. But like all others its a big monster wave with no transition.. perfect for skim. But when you really surf you got to have that push that only the convex hull give us haha. Deep V hull is great no doubt about it. But sincerely for being in a '16 Z3 AVX correctly set for my preference its really the best wave on the market with the surf ballast XL that are 800pounds less than the MB ballast and still got a better wave

Well, there isn't a B52 Tomcat model, so not sure what boat you were in. Second, sounds like the boat wasn't set up properly. Lots and lots of GSA/MB owners have their tabs set up poorly. I mean lots. With the settings correct, the wave is large, very steep, has a beautiful "transition" (which can be defined 39 different ways), and has craploads of push. But that's all subjective, right? What isn't as subjective is a direct comparison to a dialed RZX on the same day approximately 50 times last summer (or more, we both put 150 hours on). Set up identically to Ragboy's (we emailed him constantly--awesome dude). Surf one boat, park it, surf the other. Yes the surf waves had slightly different shapes, but not drastic by any stretch. The MB wave is taller and longer, and if you speed up it becomes longer yet. Tige had a little bit more of a mid-lip at the front. Neither were skim waves in the least. The MB wave with the tabs correctly set up is WAAAY too steep for the average skimmer. It would be hard to hold onto it without big fins. I always kind of giggle at the suggestion that Convex V is magical and produces "more push". It helps for sure, and it's a genius innovation. But it isn't as big of a deal or difference maker as some implore.

BUT, and the big BUT here, is the budget. $70K. That's a tough one to get a dialed TAPS3 Tige. See: impossible, really. Not remotely impossible to get into an MB, and darn close to a new one. That's really my point; the value proposition is really really strong at that price.

I love Tiges. But they cost a pretty penny!

A nice 24Ve with GSA would be a fun little critter......[emoji41]

How much are you running in your RZR? Also have you compared it to listed no taps3? Just crurius what taps 3 really does to this boat. We've got the W004 starboard and a 400 bag either in the walk through or on front the seats. For a 20ft boat or even just a boat without a surf system it does pretty dam good.

So if I was to look at a Tomcat, which one? You have the F24, but would the 23 or 22 be set up the same or similar? What options or specs does an F boat need to have? What years to look at?

I would look at a 2014 F22. Mid $50s. Saw several in TX--is that where you are? Has the smaller swim deck that won't scar the wave when SLAMMED.

I would then add GSA. I think right now there is an MB forum discount of 10% from Wakemakers. I know also GSA has a Black Friday special going too--$400 off. You're gonna be below 60 and have a sick sick boat.

I see you're in UT. Reboats in Orem is a well stocked dealer and he knows how to dial them in. I would go look!
