    What are your winter projects?

Once the boat is winterized here shortly I will finally have my boat close to home where I can work on a few things over the winter. Other years it's been in storage where I don't have access. I then bring the boat home at the end of March and have to race to get all my projects done before I hit the water. My good buddy bought a house right behind me about 200' away and is just finishing putting in a large shop off the side of the house where I get to put my boat.

    So far the list is:

Hard plumb in my starboard side sac on its own pumps -manifold or a new thru hull. Haven't decided yet.
    Install a transom remote
Seadek/gator step the walk through, rear hatches, swim platform, gunnels and a bow step.
Clean up some wiring under the dash.
    Get the rear cushion reupholstered.
Paint the grills of my Rev10's.
    Replace Tower lights with LED's.

Lots of things i'd like to do, but we'll have to see how things go. I did almost nothing to it last winter other than a good cleaning so i still have a list from last winter.

Today i peeled all the side decals off the boat. Not sure what i'm going to replace them with, but i've got the winter to decide. Probably going to use the Tige chromax decals.

I'd like to add a transfer pump and while i'm at it i'd like to figure out a few things with my ballast system. I've been getting some passive filling in my rear bags. Its been causing some problems. I need to keep turning the drain pump on the off side sac or it eventually fills up. It can cause problems if i have things stored in that locker and it doesnt get drained occasionally. Very nearly destroyed 2 surfboards while i was out cruising one day.

I'd like to add a zone control of some sort and another set of tower speakers, but i have my doubts about that happening.

Lots of other things i'd like to do but i'm having a tough time justifying the cash for this stuff. We put less than 15 hours on the boat this year so its not a huge priority.

            New subwoofer,
            LED lights
            Supplemental ballast?
Nautique has a stock voltage sensitive relay that does not really work well with an onboard charger. I will be wiring that up differently so that the batteries can remain independent when the switch is off. Currently, they will combine even when the battery switch is turned off.
The geniuses at Nautique also put the bilge pump that is not float activated (it just turns on every 30 seconds or so, and it stays on if it senses a load). When you turn the batteries off, you have also turned off your boat's life jacket. Tige, I am pretty sure is smart enough to put the bilge pump straight to the battery so you can turn your batteries off and still have water get pumped out if you spring a leak.
            Be excellent to one another.

Have to post pix if you do this, I'm leaning this way too. Any chance you layer over some poly and integrate an led outline??

Not exactly sure what your describing but it does sound interesting. Are meaning something like Epic had on their 10th anniversary boats? I'll likely be doing something simple and inexpensive, but i'll be sure to post pics of what i do. The "ghosting" from the old decals is worse than i was hoping for, so that may effect my options for new decals.

Is it beyond polishing compound fixing it?

No I think I should be able to clean it up ok, but it's going to take a little more work than I was hoping for. I was looking it over again today and I think it's actually not as bad as I thought at first. The boat is pretty dusty and has some water spots that I didn't get cleaned up before parking it, so after I peeled the graphics the contrast to those spots was quite noticeable. A few afternoons of polishing should take care of it. I hope.
