Post your favorite pics of your favorite place to boat!
Wannabe-
Let's see my screen name is Coach. I coach football. When does football season start. That is right Aug. Now if I didn't coach football I would be at the river until November. I was boarding Dec 31st this year. Trust me I will not shrivel up. There is a reason I live in So Cal and Not St Louis. I hate the cold. Too bad you can't see that pic, because it is clear as day for me.
Don't argue with him Coach, it just encourages him Those are some sweet pics. Now I see why you need so many batteries in your boat.
I can nod and act like I understand French, will that work?
Just say "we" ( french for yes but it's spelled "Oui") when they ask "beer?"
I want to go to Lake Powell. Those pics with the canyon etc are cool. Just where is Lake Powell? Is there a place to launch the boat, nice hotel and restaurant etc?
Maybe we'll bring the boat home( Edmonton, Alberta) in Sept and then head to Lake Powell for a week. Hey maybe keep heading south and tour around all these nice spots everyone is showing.
Oh, I forgot, I need to work sometime to pay for all this fun. Back to the oilsands I guess.

Lake Powell is a resevoir, the dam is in Northern Arizona, but the majority of the lake is in Utah. If you are looking to stay in a hotel as opposed to a houseboat, then I recommend staying in Page, AZ. The city was built to house the dam workers. The nicest hotel is only a Marriott Courtyard. If you are driving down, then Bullfrog is closer and they have a hotel. If you head down here, there are tons of places to see in Southern Utah-- Zion Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Arches, etc. If you can swing it, the best way to see Lake Powell is on a houseboat with your Tige in tow.
Another question, if we went to Lake Powell late Sept or early Oct what is the weather like and water temps? We have wetsuits, but not our preferance.
It sounds like a great trip, even my wife is interested.
What's the weather and water temp like in Nov and Dec?
Anyone want to trade a July week in Ontario for a winter week in the southern US ? We can swap cabins and boats. No wife swapping until we meet each other.
Can you rent a houseboat, is that what you mean? What's the rent like?
Yes, House boats are for rent. try www.lakepowell.com Lodging is interesting, everthing on the lake is controlled by a company called Aramark, they are the only ones legally allowed to do business on the lake because it is inside Clen Canyon National Park. The other options are as mentioned you can stay in Page with a variety of places and amenities. As Moki said if you are coming from the north Bullfrog is a bout 1.5 to 2 hours closer, I visit both ends of the lake every year and both are awesome. Good luck on your trip plans.
My dad always said "Stupid Hurts". He's yet to be proven wrong, but for some reason I keep trying.

Late September is awesome, October is iffy If we get a cold front in it could be cold, but I have had some great trips in Oct it just depends on timing. Both months are great because crowds are down. Wetsuits not need until mid October water temp stays up until then.
Sounds like a cool event. I see that Kevin is wearing a dry suit....I wonder how the seals hold up when/if you fall.....
Our problem up here is there is no where to ski on Jan 1
well the dog tears the seals on the dry suit a lot but our dealer sends it in to be repaired at no cost so dry suits arent completely dry and are a witch to get on n off...thats why i had a wet suit on
Where do you ride in Jan? are the lakes mostly open down there, or was this just a fluke.
Rarely do Missouri lakes totally freeze up. This year I saw more open lake ice than I have seen in years. We don't usually get enough consecutive cold days to freeze our lakes.
