Well I hope to hell we do not need a gas gauge when we get there.

Ski the Scum or Wake the waste

Utah Lake - 96,600 acres of lake - 76 miles of shoreline - Elevation 4500 feet - average depth 7 - 9 feet depending on the previous snow fall. Maximum depth is 14 feet. 7.5 million carp or 40 million pounds of fish. Very green with algae during the end of summer - this scares most people away

When I lived in Sandy, I would go to Utah lake all the time. I love that place. However, at that time I had two Sea Doo's (still have them). My favorite thing to do was to go out of American Fork harbor when the wind was blowing about 45 mph out of the south, we'd jump the waves going out and surf them coming back. The wave were about 6 to 7 feet and it was a blast. I would go out no matter the weather, the only thing that kept me off of the water was the ice. I have been in St. George since 1999 and I can honestly say that one of the last things that I still miss about the Wasatch front is Utah Lake (and the Training table).

                      I love Utah Lake.

                        Lovin Powell,
Very few people can appreciate how fun Utah Lake can be! It is amazing how big the waves can get out there! Yet, when it is windy and wavy, you can go into Mud Lake and find smooth water. My parents had on old fiberglass covered wood boat (home made) that I grew up on at Utah Lake. I love the view of the valley and the mountains from the lake. I like how in Spring time, you can go snow skiing and waterskiing in the same week.

P.S. You gotta love the ultimate dipping sauce with Training Table cheese fries!

The state record Catfish comes from Utah Lake at 32 and a half pounds. At least we are not like those guys in the South wakeboarding with snapping turtles, alligators and all sorts of biting fish.
                          Be excellent to one another.

Down here, we call it 'fishing with live bait'. The Wildlife guys did pull an 8ft gator out of our home lake (lake wylie) about 4 years ago. We are 4 hours inland from the coast.

On the ICW when we go out at 4:30 every thursday aftrernoon we do a "shark run" before we start boarding. It probably does nothing, but we just tell ourselves it helps

On the lakes we have to avoid the parts of the shoreline with the tall grass, that's where the gators are. A friend that goes at night says there are so many sets of glowing eyes on Lake Tarpon (Tampa Area) that he can't begin to count them.
