    Multiple Issues Tige R20

    Hey all,

I purchased a slightly used 2013 Tige R20 this Spring. I live in Maine so my season is a bit shorter than normal. I like the boat but am having some very frustrating issues. First off, had a problem today where the boat wouldn't start. Checked everything...my friend took the starter relay out, shook it, and it finally started. Should I just replace it? Not even sure that was the issue but it worked. No clicking...nothing. The second and perhaps most frustrating issue is that when the boat goes over 30, it porpoises like crazy. I adjust the taps all the way down...to no avail. Understandably, the family doesn't like riding in it over 30. In full disclosure, I did hit the prop/shaft this spring and did change the stock prop out by recommendation of nettleprops. Not sure if this is the reason for it?

I'd bring it to the shop but the closest dealer is in NH.

    Thanks in advance,
    Z

My 2014 RZR would porpoise pretty bad too above 35 even with the taps plate all the way down, I swapped out my plate this spring with the new much larger 2016 plate and couldn't be happier, I can now run wide open with the taps anywhere up to 4 before it starts porpoising. It also helped clean up my starboard side surf wave too.

      Z,

In the scheme of things, a starter relay is cheap. Id suggest sourcing one and replacing, unless you can get the boat to act up again and actually test the inputs and outputs at the relay.

1st, make sure the TAPS plate is going up and down, not just the needle/gauge. Next, some have added a .5" spacer between the plate and actuator foot. This puts the plate down a little further when in the down/ski position. This should help the porpoising.
