"Surf" button and TAPS 3 on Z3

OK....I have looked everywhere and cannot find anything definitive. One would think Tige would have some instructions somewhere for their surf system. I just have a couple hours on the boat with a lot of distracting kids so was not able to really think and experiment.

That said, I think I have kinda figured it out. Let me know if I am wrong on anything

Ballast: Amount determined manually using the ballast touch screen.

Speed: Adjusted with the Zero off

TAPS: Adjusted with the button on the throttle. 1=Fully deployed down. 8=fully retracted.

TAPS3: Adjust via touchscreen on the"Surf" page. Here is where I am guessing. 1=Maximal difference on the side tabs...1 is fully up and the other is fully down Everything higher than one results in slightly less difference between the 2 sides.

    Does that sound about right?

Also....what is the easiest way to check on my front bags and ensure that they are fully filled up and not twisted or something? I need to adjust my fill and empty timers...they are way off front and rear.

Going out again for 3 days this upcoming weekend so should have some good data on props, wakes, waves, RPMs etc.

    Thanks

The surf side tab is always full retracted.... Ive set my speed to ten, sat on the swim step and felt for movement between the two.

taps 3 when set at one is the opposide side the surfer is on fully deployed.

taps can also be adjusted via the surf screen.

Front bags can be checked by removing the divider in the bow and sticking your head down in their to take a look.

Fill the bags until they pour out the overflow.

Ballast for wakeboarding can be set via the profile page, surfing will always be a manual set

I have edited a custom profile on the Tige you page, which keeps the settings for ballast, speed and taps settings. That possibly would make things easier.

        Bakes,

The timers from the factory are not correct. My recommendation is to set your ballast timers according to how you will normally fill. For example, if you sit and idle while filling then do that and use your phone or watch to time each of the bags. If you fill while your underway they do your timers that way. I've found this to be less accurate because of the different flow rates while underway.

I believe my times for the front bags are 2 1/2 minutes each and I cannot remember my rear times.

You assumption on the middle taps 2 plate is correct.

When the "surf" option is off the taps 3 plates fully retract up as high as they will go (they have 15 settings). 15 is all the way up, 1 is fully deployed down. The taps 3 late on the opposite side your surfing will deploy. Most people have found success between taps 3 between 1 and 9.
