575 vs 440....anybody know the difference in weight?

Gonna order a RZX with the 440. Ragboy recommends 500# in each rear locker but he has the 575 in his boat. So, does anyone know the weight difference between these two engines? I'm thinking with the 440 perhaps more than 500# will be necessary.
    Thanks for any insight,
    John

The 575 will weight less than 100lbs more.

stack two lead bags back there and you will have what he has if not more and you can leave them forever

They are both the 6.2L block, so I see any difference in their complete marinized form, would be a non-issue.

depending on what the supercharger/plumbing and trim weigh..... I would think a 50lbs or so

Did you test drive the RZX with the 440 in it? I can't get the search function to work right now but there was a thread on here regarding the RZX and 440 and it was reported they couldn't get the RZX to reach surf speed with full surf XL. No real world experience on my end, just what I read.

Those with the 440 are going to have to prop the hell out of that boat. Their is no way that some of the zs with extra weight are having issues and a boat that ways roughly 4k lbs more wont either.

I wonder if its going to be super charged or bust if running extra weight etc........

440 in RZX does fine at surf speeds. Picked my new rig up Friday and have driven it with 2419 prop (stock) and 2773 (bought to lower surf rpms, acme recc this prop) and boat runs great! If you're at high elevation, go with the 575. 440, with 4750lbs of ballast, 3 ppl in boat, doing 11.2 w/ 2773 on, I was seeing just shy of 3200 rpms.

                    Reach out with any questions.

You are running 1750 lbs more then stock brandon?

                      What exactly is your setup?

Obviously you know now, but for the rest following this thread.

3000 stock, 50lbs of lead in each corner (200lbs), 400's PNP in each rear locker, and I was light on ppl, so tossed my 750 on the floor.

4000 with the touch of a button and the extra 750 if it's just the wife and I or we just want to go big.

Yes, test drove a '16 RZX with 440. We are at 200' above sea level and had zero issues surfing with full stock ballast. This '16 did NOT have the Plug & Play extra ballast. The surf wave was a good 1.5-2' taller than our '14 Z3 with Stock Surf ballast and an additional 700lbs of lead.

Right on, I'm glad some owners can go with the 440 to save some cash. I don't think we could get away with the 440 here in Denver. Congrats, awesome boat!

How does the engine noise compare from the 440 to 575?
