Z1 vs RZ2 help me out

Looking for some opinions. Not sure which to buy, family boat for skiing and wake boarding and surfing. Looking to get into surfing. Is the Z traditional front end better for all around vs the pickle fork?

Any significant differences in how the boat performs and handles?

Ill give you my abstract opinion and you can do what you will.

The new 16s are better but more even across the line in surf potential because of the taps 3 then anyone will lead you to believe.

If I were choosing a boat right now all over again, I would base it on, storage, features and the overall space you need.

Just my awful opinion so take it for what its worth.

If you are going AVX then I would say it absolutely matters....

My 13 z1 seemed pretty tippy and weight sensitive. But now that I have the 17 z1 that issue seems to have gone away for whatever reason. I've ridden behind both boats surfing and either one can get the job done IMO. I don't think you can go wrong with either. I think they control around the same price tag. So crawl around both and figure out your personal preference.

I can only answer for past models. I have been on both. Z1 was great for surfing, like a previous person said it was tippy. We went with RZ2. I felt like surf wave was the same, the difference for me was all around. The other watersports wave was so much better, and no problem with being tippy!

I've been in both boats and love them both, obviously I own an RZ2 so I may be biased but I feel the waves are pretty equal and for me if I were choosing between the 2 it would come down to space and storage, and so I would get the RZ2 since it's a little bigger and I've fallen in love with the pickle fork bow, 4 adults fit pretty easily up there.

Interior space and storage is a premium to have in a boat. The bigger the better. Since you are paying a premium price I would go for the RZ2. IMHO. They both surf very well.

After having a 24Ve I find it hard to even consider something much smaller.
