    Bent prop?

Last weekend while idling through 5 mph zone on the way to dock we hit a rock. Engine shut off but started back up ok. Took it for a drive and had pretty bad vibration. At first look I didn't see any dings or bends, but when I got home I started turning the prop and shaft and found one blade that looks completely off. I am assuming they are all supposed to be uniform in distance and pattern when turned? In the picture three of the four blades follow the same line along the wood. You can see the fourth. Bent correct?

I checked the prop shaft and rotated it against a straight edge and no apparent bends. I did notice though that after the strut the wear pattern looks a little different. I don't know if it's always been like this or not? Is it possible the shaft moved back?

    Thanks for the help!

I just got my boat back from the shop after hitting a tree underwater. There was a bad vibration which was somewhat fixed by me removing and reseating the prop. However the shop found that the prop was just slightly bent. I also had them check the alignment of the shaft and strut. Luckily it was only the prop.

Thanks. Does it look like the prop shaft moved back? If so, how do you move it back?

I will have to check the shaft when I get home to see if I have the same ring.

However if your shaft is bent, when you turn the prop you should feel the prop getting harder to turn in one area and easier in another.
