The million dollar question is did you have a z3 with taps 3? I would be curious when talking wave comparisons. I had a 15 avx z3 and now my 16z3 and the boats are so drastically different its scary... Probably along the lines of what you are experiencing....

Have you experienced water in the boat when pulling the drain plug? We had a 2016 RZX that was taking on crazy water! After a few attempts to correct the dealer traded us for a 2017.. We have had it out twice, both times it was also full of water.. Looks like it will be back in the shop.. Very frustrating after shelling out some serious dough!!

Warren that is crazy... My 16 z3 was taking on some water and for some reason the seal around the drain plug was an issue, they fixed it but yours sounds so crazy!!!!!

Ever find out where the water is coming from? Sounds like all the ballast bags are leaking at the fittings or there was some holes in the bags themselves?

We did have a tear in one of the bags under the floor. They replaced it but we are still getting water.. Not to mention the auto on the bilge pumps is not working.. It's going back to the shop Wednesday.. My Tige dealer is almost 300 miles away.. Makes it a real pain.. Hopefully they have better luck this time.. This will be trip #3 to the dealer over a 2 month period.. Sure wish I had a do over at this point! Came very close to buying the Nautique....

Funny you should ask. Out of curiosity I went to pull the plug today and did not have the wrench in the box after my transfer of gear. So that is to be determined....
I am having a few other issues though. The uber expensive stereo is inop... Don't know if it is an amp or the control head at the fancy screen. And there is a weird long squeaking noise every time I shift to neutral. Some kind of linkage issue I suppose.
My dealer is taking it in for a look. I'm sure it will be worked out quickly. Bummer though... Puts a damper on your enthusiasm.

That does suck, that's why I am trying to get as much info as I can I'm boat less right now and looking at the RZX the G23 and the Supra SE I hate to say it but The RZX is loosing ground real quick with me.

Yes, mine makes a whine when you put it in neutral as well. We are running the 575. I felt like it was the Supercharger whining.. Our 2016 RZX was a complete mess.. It's been towed in twice. I have had more problems with it than the previous 6 boats I have owned.. Everything from stereo issues, fusses blowing, ignition problems, tower cracked, water leaking, among many other things... Very disappointing... The problem is we are not starting off well with the 2017 now... Tige is sending some factory techs to look at things this week.. By the way we have had issues with the touchscreen in the 2017.. Tige actually said they were aware of the problem mine had and are putting a new screen in.. If they can't fix it this week we are doing whatever it takes to get a refund... I sure hope you got a better one than me!!

                    Warren,
Just pulled the plug tonight when I went back to get something off the boat. No water but it was pretty level on the trailer. I'll let you know about the radio issues. Very sorry to hear about your struggles. I sure hope it was a unique situation. I admit to some concerns about being one of the first boats off the line. I'll see how my dealer handles it. They have always been good to me so I expect the same level of commitment as usual will be applied.
If you have time I would like to know screen issues you had so I can keep an eye out for it. Would you mind a private message please. Thanks.

Some post notes on taking water. I had that issue on my Z3 for a bit last year and it was a drive seal of some sort. Fortunately under warranty.

I had an old school Z3 with single taps. So this situation is very different. We had our first good water day today and the boat performed admirably. I had the best surf session of my short surfing career. It was just very easy to surf behind. That was with stock underfloor ballast. Just my son and his friend with me. No PNP. My Z was a good wave but this is just better. Taller, longer and a more gradual base/ transition. And what a relief to not mess with bags and emptying lockers.

My best advice, no matter which brand you choose. Make sure the dealer has done a sea trial on your boat, prior to you taking delivery. 2nd, you do a sea trial with the dealer prior to taking delivery. most of these types of issues can be found and corrected, prior to the buyer hitching up the boat and driving away.

My Z has the same 1 second or so whatver you want to call it, I wouldnt call it a squeal or a whine.. its more in between and its only when coming out of gear..

It may suck if you are having issues with a new boat the first year of two into its infancy, however, Tige is top notch with customer service. One tow behind the Rzx or z3 and you will no longer have any questions on which boat to buy if you are looking at a surf platform.

The boats you mentioned are fantastic in their own right, but drive them, then look on their forums... same **** different toilet. Regardless of the MFG you run the risk of getting one that has some issues, if they sea trial it and then you request it be sea trial again with someone from Qc you can you usually weed a problem boat out. Then trial it again with your dealer. Its just the name of the game, regardless of brand.

As far as surf tech and awesomeness, the RZX sure is awesome.

Right, I feel the same about my new Z compared to my 15 avx, the wave is in a different stratosphere....... the taps 3 system is really makings these boats amazing. It cranks out unreal waves...... I have friends who all have new G's and Malibus and they all vote to surf my boat if we are going out just for that. No egos, just the best wave and the most fun.

I really would love to see an Rzx dialed to compare, I need to see the difference if any first hand, weight for weight wave for wave.

I want to step up next year when they have another year of production under their belt, I am tempted to do it based on the storage and features alone but I really want to see a significant jump in wave before I feel comfortable and I dont know if its going to happen.
