Mission Delta on 2012 Tige RZ2

I've posted a lot about this in other threads. I made my own the second I saw Missions pre-release photos. To date I think it's the closest DIY knock off to the mission version I've seen yet so I doubt it works much different. After seeing what others have made work I probably put more effort into it then needed. But it works and I personally have had great success with it on 3 different boats. On my RZ2 I have run with and without bow weight. Often because I'm too lazy to manually fill my front sac(s) and it works fine either way. Defiantly get more length using bow weight. I attach it forward as low to the bottom of the boat (below the step in the hull) and as close to the transom as I can get. Speed set to 11.2.

I have two 1100lb sacs in the rear and fully filled I could not get over 9.1mph. At one point I got myself stuck in limp mode and thought I broke something. Solution was to fold over the legs of my bags and skate back to about 800lbs on each side. Bonus, I increased my storage under my seats.

I even cut my cooler out to Increase the list on the goofy side a week before I discovered the idea of a suck gate. A Lot of work I didn't need to do. It's ok that thing never held ice anyway and I welcome the storage.

Some of the new designs are offering some adjustability and after analyzing how sort gate works, having a plate that's has more of an angle on it may work better. My buddies have made more of a wedge style suc gate and while I have not tried those on my RZ2, they work really well on there boats.

Check out Quick Shift Wake Surfing on Facebook. Really like where this guy is going with this and while I can make
One that works for $40, ide consider one of is.

Ide like to run a little more weight and I'm looking for a new prop. Not sure if I should go with the Acme 1433 or the 1617. Leaning towards the 1617 but would appreciate any opinions or advice a stone has on props for the RZ2 with a 340 HP Marine Power motor.

Hopefully this will help you out as I have the same boat as you with the same engine!! I have also been using a homemade suck-gate all summer and it's worked great, my brothers friend actually let me borrow his mission delta about 2 weeks ago and the results were exactly the same, both gates produced the same wave, thanks internet for saving me $450, the cost of a new prop!!

Now to the good stuff, at the start of the season I was running 2-750 pound fat-sacs with the ACME 537 prop, speed usually 11, no weight in the bow other than people and the boat was constantly going into limp mode, my mechanic hooked up his computer and the low oil code is what came back, the funny thing is no alarms ever went off and the pressure read out didn't drop on the dash, the boat would just die, well he told me to put more oil in it and I did and this helped but still about once or twice a day the boat did the same thing. So I decided to get a new prop since I'd been wanting one anyway, I called ACME and they recommended the 1617 because the lake I usually boat at is about 4500 feet and I go to Lake Powell often which is just over 3500 feet. So I had the oil changed and put on the new prop and headed down to Powell in August. I used the same set up, 2-750 pound fat-sacs and just human body weight in the bow, I added no additional oil AND......not once did my boat go into limp mode the whole trip!! And at times we had a crew of 12 on board, also just for fun we stacked 2-400 pound fat-sacs on top of the 750's and had a massive wave and still no limp mode! I think because the hole shot is so much better with the 1617 the boat never was in the wrong position too long to get the false code and it planed out so much quicker, not only that the speed held better and I was running about 2700-2800 RPM's instead of close to 3000 so I know I was saving gas as well. So what I'm saying is upgrade your prop now, I wish I would have done it at the start of the summer!! PM me if you have any other questions.

Great info. Thank you. I will be upgrading. Just trying to decide on the 1235 (14/5 x 14.25 Pitch) or the 1433 (14" x 14.25 Pitch). I'm getting some mixed information from retailers, local prop shop, my local dealer and the forum. While some say the 1235 has worked on there boat the dealer is telling me they have changed shaft angles over the years and the 1" increase in diameter may be too much. My gut says go for the 1235 as I may not get the change I'm expecting from the 1433.

The local prop shop told me that because the pitch is the same on both I won't notice any difference in the .5" diameter loss if I went with the 1433. Not sure what the truth is on that as I've not yet seen anyone try both and do a write up on the differences.

I'm using the 1235 on my 14 RZ2 and so far no issues with my MD and fully loaded rears (#1400 in each corner + the 800 upfront) with 6-8 people onboard. I haven't tried going over 11.4 but at 10.8 no issues at all. I have the stock 350 engine.

Yeah 2013-2017 the 1235 (14.5" x 14.25) is recommended. The equivalent recommendation for the 2007-2012 is the 1433 (14" x 14.25). I'm sure that the extra half inch would clear but I'm not really up for chancing it. Also the dealer did tell me that they have made some changes in the shaft angle so this must be what he was referring to with the diameter size between the model years. Think Ill stick with the 14" diameter. Now just need to decide between the 1433 with a 14.25 Pitch or the 1617 with the 13.75 Pitch. Pretty low elevation here in Texas but we would like to run a lot more weight then we can now. I have 3000lbs of ballast available and I've only been able to use about 2000lbs of that evenly weighted.

What will the two different pitches do to my rpms at an elevation of only 489'? Culrich77, I know you said the 1617 was running between 2700-2800 rpms. Doubt I can expect the same result here in Texas and I'm worried that the 1617 may run far higher then I would like.

Your RZ2 is the same wetted/running surface of the 22ve and neither changed from first release to retirement. Your dealer is somewhat correct if his statement is applied to Tige as a whole. There was a change between the 05 22V (retired in 06) and the brand new 06 22Ve. On a "V", the 14" prop like the 1433 is ideal. However, due to the change, the 22Ve and your 07 RZ2 can run the 14.5" 1235. The Z3 can safely run a 15" prop.

Ok Acme called me. Said the 1235 (14.5" x 14.25) is the way to go if I have the clearance. Which is pretty much what everyone here has said. If I don't have the clearance (need 1 1/4" from stock, fingers crossed) then the 1433 (14" x 14.25) is what I will need for my elevation.

We have an 07 22 be and installed a 1235. We have not ran it with the new prop, however clearance does not seem to be an issue. I would have to remeasure but I thought we still had 1" of clearance....maybe 3/4. Keep in mind that an increase of prop size of 1/2" will only change the clearance by 1/4".

When I talked to ACME they originally did recommend the 1235 for my boat but with the elevation of the Utah they steered me to the 1617 and I couldn't be happier, but I have heard great things about the 1235 as well and I am pretty sure you won't be disappointed, anything is an upgrade over the 537.

Now I'm even more confused. Acme called me back on the first voicemail I left them and the guy I spoke to recommended the 1615 over the 1235 when using 3000lbs of ballast. Says the 1235 is popular due to its age but when you put them head to head with that much weight 8 out of 10 will choose the 1615 over the 1235.

Still sounds like the 1235 is more versatile if I want to run less weight. All in all he just said that the pitch and cup on the 1615 has more bite.

Not that this is better than calling ACME but this is where I started....(oh and I think by saying 1615 you are meaning 1617?)

They recommend the 1617 not only for high elevation but also heavily weighted boats, when I called ACME this is what they confirmed as well and I have been extremely happy with the prop. In Lake Powell I ran 2200 pounds in the rear and had a crew of 12 adults and never had a problem with the hole shot or maintaining speed. And for top end I think I lost 2-3 MPH which I don't care about at all, I got my boat up to 37 and am never going to cruise that fast, I also pulled a slalom skier and maintained a crisp 32 with no problem.

I talked to him about the 1617 but he still recommended the larger 1615 over any of the 4 I've been looking at.

Said they typically recommend 3/4" clearance but as long as I have one inch clearance on the existing 13.5" prop to go with the 14.5". Ether the 1615 which he recommends if I'm always running 3000lbs of ballast or the more populate 1235 if I'm running in the range 2000lbs of ballast.

He said because of my engine size I can get closer then 3/4" without any prop burn issues.

I would go with that then, they are the prop dealer and I think have helped many on this forum get the right prop, I trusted ACME and couldn't be happier.

Found this brand, tsunami wake gates. Seems much cheaper then deltas.
