This is a tough one to explain. The end of last year after a surf session I went to drain the ballast in my back locker and the pump didnt work. Went to turn the boat off and it wouldnt turn off but when I switched to the key to the off position or accessory position the pump worked but it was only getting limited power. I ended up having to pull the coil wire to shut engine off. I used it the next day and the engine shut off fine but pump still only worked when key was in the off or accessory position and with very limited voltage. My local marina thought it was the ignition switch so I changed that out this year (but havent had a chance to use the boat yet). I did start it after the ignition change and it started no problem and shut off just fine. Went to put it in last weekend and when I turned the key I got the typical warning beep but the beep kind continued after it started but very faintly and eventually went off. I have a Perco switch (2 batteries) and it was worse on the both setting, didnt work on battery 2 because that battery is dead and on battery 1 would just be real faint and eventually stop. I also removed the ballast pump and hooked up to my car battery and it ran like a champ, re-installed in the boat and hardly pumped anything. So rather than screw around I took it to my local marina (not a lot of wake board boat experience), they gave up after 1 hour and said I need to take it somewhere else as they cant figure out the issue. So I have some kind of electrical issue that is limiting power to all my accessories. The boat starts fine off the one battery. So if anyone has ran across something like this than I would be deeply grateful for any insight you can offer.

Can you hook that ballast pump directly to your battery #1. If it runs at full speed as it did after you ran it off your car battery then your problem is not the #1 battery. You also said that all your accessories are suffering from limited power. They all get power from your battery. Is all this troubleshooting now being done with the engine off or on? What's does your battery voltage gauge say with engine on? Did you check your accessory circuit breakers...is one half stuck? Are your accessories tied to battery #2 instead of #1? Try removing battery #2 from the equation all together if we know its bad. Just a start....

Thanks for taking the time to respond. The local marina is legit but who knows how experienced the person was that was working on my boat. Either way I appreciate your input and will suggest some of these when I find a new marina to take it to. Just very frustrating and I am very mechanically challenged.

Dont know who they are and dont mean to diss them, but your dual bank setup is child's play compared to a twin engine boat with a genny and 110 AC. Certainly not unique to a tow boat as well. Even a ballast system. Break it down and its a water holding tank with transfer pumps.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Understood......they claim that after running through the basic diagnostics that they couldnt figure out why the warning beep was staying on. Since this happens right when you turn the key and the boat hasnt been run in over a week, its not an over heating issue, I cant imagine its a oil pressure issue. Does the alarm on these sound when there is a low voltage situation? Either way they have thrown there hands up and waved the white flag so I have to find another marina :-(
