    Mission Delta video of 2014 RZ2 on youtube

    I see a video came up on July 20th on youtube of a 2014 RZ2 using the Mission Delta. By chance would whoever posted that video be on this board?

    I'm trying to find someone who's used it behind a RZ2 with larger bags like this person (they say 2000lbs rear) and I'm curious on the difference between using the Delta and listing an RZ2 (I have 2400lbs in the rear)

    From what I can see there isn't a way to send the video a message or reply back (as comments are closed for some reason) or if you are someone who has one and are used to listing your boat with larger bags whats your opinion?

    I have an 08 RZ2 (pretty much the same as a 14 except the swim platform) and it makes a better wake with a shaper than it does being listed. If you look at the physics behind the shaper it prevents the convergence of the wake coming off your non-surfside from washing out the surfside. It's also why you get a much cleaner and longer wake. I run two 800s in the rear and 400 up front. I'm adding another 600lbs to the floor for when it is just my wife and myself. More weight just seems to make the wake bigger, with slightly more on the surfside. The first picture is with the boat listed the second is with the shaper, you can se how the transition of the wake is much smoother. G0151447.jpgIMG_0256.jpg

      Are you using the Mission Delta or a DIY shaper in these photos? Thoughts - if my current wave looks like yours (minus a touch of how clean your wave is on top) with the shaper what should I expect if I add one? Also if there is anyone else out there using one on a newer RZ2:
      1- how would the VX impact the shaper?
      2- would the MLA bags (1200lbs per side) be a negative knowing 750% of the water is in a long tube that wouldn't sit 100% at the rear knowing you'll be equally weighted

        We are using a homemade suck gate on an r20 with the vx and the wave is amazing... very long and super clean. You can't go wrong. Also it isn't as sensitive on weight displacement as it is without the suck gate, we still use a little more weight on the side we are surfing. But you can't go wrong with it.

          I have an 09 rz2 and i built a home made suck gate. I agree with Casual152 it is long and clean. Good push back farther. My kids love it more than listing because it is cleaner on top so they don't fall off the ledge as they call it. I have 1500 in the back split between the lockers. 4 people in the boat (550lbs). Still playing with it but we like it better. Also everyone can sit where they want and not all crunched into the back corner.

            The delta mission was my summer addition to our powell trip and I have to admit that I was skeptical but evenly wieghted with about 1100 lbs on each side and only a small crew the wave was spectacular on the goofy side and still sweet on the regular side. Made me and a few other riders want to go goofy.

              Somewhere there is a thread that explains the the physics behind TAPS3 and surf gates, I wish I could find it. Mine is a DIY (basically an exact replica of the Ronix). No matter what your situation it will 1. definitely lengthen the wake 2. make it cleaner 3.possibly make it taller as you add more weight. Even though positioning the weight in the boat it isn't as important, it does make a difference. I have 6 X 50b lead weights in the bow, but I have experimented moving them around various places, you'll probably have to do the same. I think it really depends what kind of tricks you want to do, tall and short, or shorter with a longer pocket.

                  I have actually been thinking more and more about a point I made in that post. The idea of making one side of the boat longer than the other to delay convergence. In theory at least, it would create an equally good surf wave as a gate or a tab, but it would have NO increase in drag. (i.e. no increase in fuel usage). I should be smart and get a patent like IDBoating rather than just spouting on my keyboard.

                    a horizontal and vertical tab that extend and retract might be neat in theory...

                      Buddy had a ghetto gate that basically did that. Lengthened one side without much extension out. Seemed better on fuel economy.
