I heard the explosion is made by the makers of Phat Budde. I agree the Samson or the Explosion would look good.
Ok I retract this statement. In my defense I was pulling out of the water in a massive thunderstorm last wednesday. I asked the new Tige owner pulling out next to me who made the tower and I thought he said X-it sports which is affiliated with Phatt Budde. But he might have said Xplosion. It was raining pretty hard and I did not want to use my tower as a lightning rod.
Originally posted by Moki That is a sweet looking tower! It looks like it is custom made for Tige. Is it a universal or custom tower? Also, where is the website for this tower?
I think Explosion is making these towers specifically for Tige Watersports. I don't think Explosion Towers has a web site yet. If you want more info, I would call Tige Watersports, they are really helpful.
Put somethin' purty on that there Tigger. Samson's look real nice as do the Phat Budde's. Does anybody know who the manufacturer of those Explosion towers? If I was putting a new tower on (which you really should do Moki), I would be looking at the Explotions real close. I haven't heard one bad thing about Monster and I would have considered them an option for my boat, but U.G.L.Y. Go ahead Monster people, throw your rocks.

Wranger's Phatt tower has bilet uprights with the cool Tige logo. His tower rakes back futher than mine. The Explosion tower is a little taller. I think that Phatt tower is 2" tube and the Explosion tower is 2-1/2". As you can tell I was considering the Phat tower, but at the time the Phatt tower was more money and I thought the rake of the Explosion tower looked better with the boat.
Moki...you asked what I do and don't like about our tower...here's a couple of thoughts.
I like the overall blinged out look of it. It does sweep all the way back to the sun pad near the back. I like the billet pieces which I don't think they are doing any more... I like the Tige logo integrated into the billet etc... I liked being able to weld the speaker cans on and then get the whole thing powder coated to match up with our boat... Overall it made out boat pretty unique and fun. I also like that when you don't have the bimini up in the winter and spring that it feels like there is no tower above you at all. The boat has a very nice open feeling.
Now for the stuff that I don't like as well... The billet pieces give you one devil of a blind spot on either side. When I want to check my 4 and 8 o'clock positions before making a turn etc... I have to bend around and look pretty carefully to be extra safe. Because the tower does sweep so far back, it's a little awkward to put up our 10 foot bimini. This is a minor complaint because we really like the 10 footer and if we had the shorter one it wouldn't be any problem at all.
The tower is actually very solid and with exception of some minor creaks when you are pulling a boarder, the construction is great. The tower folds all the way down to the level of the windshield, so no complaints there. It's a two person job to make it easy but I have done it by myself with some grunts and groans. The billet piece actually comes all the way off so there is nothing above the glass if you take it all the way down.
I have seen the tower on Zany's boat as he cruised through the channel and also on another 24Ve that was recently purchased at Tige Watersports in Corona. The Xplosion Tower is nice looking and seems very solid. They are designing towers specifically for that Tige shop which gives them a more custom look.
When you call Tige Water Sports talk to Daniel...he's a huge help and will get you all squared away if you head that direction.

The boat is beautiful. Don't get me wrong, I know it's an excelent tower, but the lines of it are like nails across a chalk board to me. I don't think they go with the lines of the boat at all.

I nominate you for Secretary of State...can't possibly do any worse than the clowns they have there now

Ouch...now the political bashin' has commenced! That would mean that we would be required to call him Secretary Nickypoo...or Mr. Secretary for short...
Perhaps as opposed to the Secretary of State, we could ask Matt to impose the title of:
Secretary Nickypoo of Tige Feel Goodness Even If You Don't Have A Tower That Matches Mine
Welcome to the family. By chance are you related to Jason or Hiedi Rich, they live accross the street and were telling of a relative buying a blue white Tige'. Good looking boat.
