wonder how that would affect backpressure. if reversing does the exhaust port still contain a flapper to keep water from getting pushed up the exhaust? could be a retrofit pretty easily with a few thru-bolts instead of welded on design. FAE could have some competition....

I would actually think that it should be lower in the water, below the tab. With it being on top of the tab, wouldn't the exhaust still surface quickly? Maybe I am missing something.

I do like the concept, cleaner looking than FAE, but for CO reduction I have to believe FAE will function better

CO issue is essentially gone with cat conv equipped boats (if running correctly).

I hate surfing behind cat boats. I still prefer the FAE. This doesn't look like a great design. Doesn't put the water below.

Interesting. That's certainly something you could build yourself....

I can see the entire top of my trim tab while surfing so that wouldn't force any of the exhaust in to the water it would just be on the surface of the water? I cant see how this would be any better than the normal exhaust opening or extremely marginal at best once the boat is moving? If the openings where all in the back bottom edge of that thing at least the exhaust would be pushed down in to the water.

If it's just a metal box, sure. But if it really is a SCRUBBER, then it needs some expensive catalyst chemistry inside, yes?

Maybe I'm taking the original post too literally. When I read "scrubber" I interpreted that to mean it is chemically converting the CO into something else.

^^^Thats what I thought. Odd design for sure.

A "scrubber" is simply capturing the CO in the water, which is what this device attempts to do. Catalytic converters actually use a catalyst to convert the free CO into CO2.

I can still smell exhaust and I still get light headed. I just don't see a reason that all boats don't just have an FAE. Or something basically the same.

OK, does it then have a replaceable cartridge or something where the "captured" CO is stored until it is removed?

Frankly, this just looks like an expensive HVAC vent. I hope I'm wrong and there's some really cool magic in there. I'd love to hear more.

Does it pick up water from underneath or something?
