Taps 3 plate broke on Z3

    IMG_7648.jpg

I couldn't figure out why my wave went all washy, I pulled it out of the water to fill it up and noticed the plate hanging!
The dealer was great about it, they had a new plate in hand from the factory the following day, which was Monday. I had a local welder weld it back together in the meantime to get me through the weekend.

Great Odin's Raven! That's a bummer for your regular side surfers in the meantime. Were you running extra weight above the stock XL? I swear I have to bounce my surf tabs with the bracelet everytime I'm out - riding regular/port side. Like it's defaulting to a certain position (regardless of profile settings) until I arrow it up twice and then back down twice. Might want to borrow one of those ronix wake shapers for a few days while parts come in to fix it and see if it's any different.

Take a look at the metal and see if its like pot metal with lots of porosity. Today you get real junk metal and no one knows about it until things like this happen because corners are continuously cut and there is no quality control or adherence to specifications for metal types. Its a real epidemic in this country with knock of, counterfit products in metal and hardware with document that says it meets standards but really don't.

Ya it was a piss off.... I think I'm going to keep this one on now that it has a farmer weld on it as it's probably a lot stronger than one from the factory!
