I have yet to see a 16 with 3k lbs like mine total in rear weight to compare but I think the wave is insane, I owned a 15 z3 loaded with weight and I think this thing is in a different stratosphere with the way the taps 3 system works, its all just a great harmony. I havent slammed the boat with people so I think it will be even better when that happens but thus far it is the best wave I have seen in person and I have a fair amount of time in g23's etc pretty much all the big new boats excluding the RZx.
Ragboy says the wave he has dialed is second to none, when he speaks I listen however, Ill be honest, I dont think he has been in a new Z slammed with any weight above stock.. and I really think this taps 3 system with the convex vx has some weird effect with rear weight, the more you put in the better it gets not being listed and the taps 3 putting the hull in a unique orientation makes for a wave I dont think has been duplicated in recent years previous. Throw out all comparisons with the AVX weight setups/sped etc... dont ask me why. I think you could really add even more weight then the previous years without the negative effect like before. I am going to go to 1600 in each side by the end of the summer and see what happens.
The only thing for me that is a game changer is all of the room... my goodness the Rzx has soo much storage and I can really see that as a huge benefit, the Z just absolutely blows for storage when the bags are all full, you have the front hatch and under the drivers seat and thats about it.
I am going to take rag up on going to to spend some time at his lake, ill take the Z hopefully and hopefully ride behind his Rzx and get a good feel of the true difference. He has his boat with an extra 500lbs a side I believe, couple that with how much heavier that boat is and its something like 11k plus going through the water. I am hesitant on what a non supercharged boat would do with all that weight in it, with gear and loaded with people. Thats a tank through the water.
I know the hull was a redesign of the AsR, as they actually have the boat they used at the factory when tinkering with hull shape, I know its different but I wonder if the thing still drives like a tank. Thats one thing I really love about the Z, unload it and its a nimble sporty boat to cruise around in still.
Either way I think you would be ecstatic, I love ours, and the only reason I am debating making the jump up is for the room and the 17 features that sound great. Still lots of questions though that wont be answered until I spend more time in one.
Good luck.

I am running 400 of lead in each corner over the additional 1000 or 1100 that is factory. I run it all under the most rear portion of the bags.
As far as setting are concerned....
I run the rear bags full and the fronts 70% when I have a crew of less than 4.
I run more in the bow as I I load the boat up with people, in the inclinometer I like to see around 8 degrees or so in bow rise.
I run Taps 3 at 1 for both sides (Fully deployed) and I run the taps center plate at 3-5 again depending on the weight. The more weight the less taps I can run but never any less then 3,, to me 3-4 is ideal.
All that is with my speed between 11.2-12mph. If you dont have enough weight in the rear to take advantage of the convex vx you will have to surf slower.
I am going to add a little more weight this next week and experience going up to 13. Ill let you know what happens...Germaine Marine

Here is the result of going up to 500 in each rear corner above the surf xl and taking the speed to above 12mph... The picture below is right at 12.5 mph. Its massive and wonderful.

Yeah it has been a few months in adding weight and playing with it, but its a monster, I really want to stack it against the RZX......... With the extra 500 in each corner which is what the money add is on the RZX, it turned it into a whole new animal....So maybe at the reunion I can drive an RZX, see it perform and get some who have been in or own an RZx and compare the similarities.Germaine Marine
