    TAPS quit working

Hello everyone, first time here but original owner of 2001 22i-Riders edition. This past week the TAPS system didn't work. Here are the symptoms, hopefully someone has first hand experience and can help.

The TAPS gauge is stuck on 7 and doesn't move
The switch in the throttle doesn't move at all, no power to it
The control module has power into it, but none out on any of the other wires.
The TAPS blade on the back of the boat does not move at all.

Basically, there is power into the control module, but nothing works and there isn't any power coming out.

Is the Control Module out? Where can I get one, I live in Socal?
    Thanks for the help

at the module , check the small black wire that is in the insulation jacket with the small white and small red (3 wires that go to the handle) It should have 12v. If it does jumper from the small black to either the small red or small white. If you pump kicks on, then its either the wires going to the handle (typically bad at the handle itself) that are bad or the switch is bad. If not then your module is bad.

I have a 2011 RZ4 and just had to deal with my TAPS not working. There is a video on YouTube for troubleshooting Bennett Hydraulic system that really helped me. I identified my issue as the relay being faulty and the solenoid valve on the hydraulic pump. For my relay, I was told that it could only be purchased from Tige. However, after a lot of research, I found the parts Tige used to make the relay. Tige used 2 waterproof relays connected together with some 3 and 4 pin connectors. Take your old relay out and get the part numbers off of them and do a google search for them. Replace the 2 individual relays for $10 each and save yourself about $150. I have attached the link to the video and the link to the relays just as an example. I would doubt Tige used the exact same relay on your boat. Hope this helps!

I recently ran into this with a friends boat. It was working fine and then it wasn't working at all. While I was installing some new batteries, I had knocked the power wire for the taps off of the fuse panel. Plugged it back in and it's fine.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Thanks for the help gents, I found today that the switch that controls the TAPS movement up and down was the problem, the wires coming out of the throttle had shorted out after being twisted back and forth for the last 15 years. I will find a replacement wire with the 3 wires inside. Thanks for all the help.

Yep pretty common. Glad you got it going.
