Thanks, it makes sense now about the larger plug and play sac. Couldnt see where they would go is the sac was like the Surf-XL.

Maybe Tige should leave the plumbing stubbed out and let the sacs be dealer or customer added to fit their wave needs. Why go with small sacs that leave owners wanting, just for the sake of not adding too much factory ballast. Leave out the sacs and you arent adding too much factory and owners arent tossing expensive factory sacs for upgraded sacs.

They are not "small" sacs. They are big sacs under the floor. 3000 lbs worth. So you can fill up that ballast, and the boat has zero loss of storage. And the lockers and side compartments are ginormous, larger than the Z3 or any tige before it. The wake is good stock, but not "competition level" for lack of a better word. In the past, people like us were considered 1 percenters and the larger wakes we made were maybe not considered to be what the average consumer wanted. More and more boats are making that kind of wait either stock or with a simple P&P solution and that is great.

Wake boarding and Wakesurfing are very different in this way and it has taken a while for the industry to completely catch on to it. With wake boarding a huge/comp level wake is great, but only a better wakeboarder can really take advantage of it. With wakesurfing, the same things a pro wants in a wave, a beginner will not only notice, but appreciate and benefit from. So a good comp level wake for a beginner wake surfer, is great.

When a wake is big and powerful, its EASIER to surf and just more fun. As long as the wake has a good transition, bigger and more powerful is better in my opinion. With some boats, you can't go much bigger than a certain size, or you start to destroy the transition and its not worth it. The RZX can get waist high and retain a buttery smooth transition, which is why I think its the best wake so far.

Some people may not like that you have to add those 2 extra sacks to get that extra goodness, but its a simple thing. As majestic said, he drives the boat for us at the events, with TAPS3 you have to play with the ballast very little so whether you do these extra sacks manually or P&P, its very simple. With us, those sacs are completely manually. We fill them up once and empty them once, we never touch them in between. We went camping and had the RZX docked on the shore for a few days at Whiskeytown lake. We filled them up on Tuesday, and emptied them on Friday when we left. We did not touch those extra sacks the entire time. We just emptied and filled the stock bags when needed with the touch system. When we anchored we emptied the stock system cuz it was shallow.

Hope that helps. Have fun looking for your new boat, just make sure you get a good ride behind an RZX, with the wake setup properly before you make that decision. Its that good.

Referring to the visible sacs that other have stated to be small and need upgrading, not the subfloor ballast.

I dont think the boat comes with a P&P yet Chp above the floor......... thats what rag is saying. With the first boat, they took the 3k stock under floor and added to that.... then reported back to Tige. I dont know when the changes will come but they settled on 500 additional in the rear lockers above the stock 3k that the boat comes with sub floor. And thats what has worked best for a comp wave dialed in.

I doubt Tige would make the change to that if they havent already, because of USCGA and or just that the avg consumer might value the full storage locker over an additional 500 lb bag in each locker.

I think a 500LBS P&P option from the factory is the best course.

                I assume "they" is Tige?

Back to being confused. Majestic stated yes, sub-floor ballast and exposed sac ballast when asking for a clarification to what ragboy posted.

Hyco, When I read your post I take it that your priority is the wakeboard wake. You're more than welcome to bring your family and spend time on my G23. You can wakeboard, surf, drive all you want and I think you will be happy with the stock wake. I bought a used 2014 last fall; we demoed a 2016 and just could not justify buying new at the time.

The RZX has a great wakeboard wake and surf wake. The RZX also has the plug and play sacs stock (now)so it is not like you have to add bags. The G gives up a lot for a surf wake. Yes it does it all but so does the RZX. It just does not give up on a surf wake and still has a pro level wakeboard wake with stock ballast (actually have to run like 60-70% rear, 100% front).

Wow! I appreciate all the RZX feedback here. I am about to order a 2017 RZX and only had one test drive in the worst possible North Texas wind conditions. We got drenched all over the boat going into the wind but did fine downwind. Even with conditions I will never go out in the surf wave was pretty sweet. I think the boat had a little pnp extra but the salesmen said he didn't fill those up. I didn't know until after, however. Ragboy, thanks for the vids that helps a lot. As I stated before, for this money I want to get on the boat push buttons and have reg and goofy riders without a bunch of hassle and also not have a bunch of bags and stuff laying around. We are nothing close to competition level or ambition but I'm getting older and just want to have easy fun. Especially when my boys are gone and my wife and I are trying to do this by ourselves more. Also, We have some grandparents that come out and they are not nimble enough to move around the boat with all that gear loose. It sounds like the RZX can handle this with ease.
Nevertheless, I have another test this week before a final decision and it better blow me away or my old friend Z will be around a while. Nobody wants to pay that much for a boat but if it actually delivers I am fortunate to be in the position to carry that bill. But we all have a $ threshold. I'm really close to that now.
I will say this, the thing is beautiful and 2017 options look pretty impressive. This thing looks way better inside than a g23 IMO.

What are some of the new options on the 2017 RZX ? And can the new tower come in different colors or is it just standard black ?

                          Hi Guys,
A few of you tried to private message me with questions and I tried to reply but I've never done that and I can't tell if it went through or not. If you didn't get the reply or still want to get in touch with me just send me an alternate method of contact and i'll be happy to do that instead. Sorry for the lack of forum skill.

BTW- I did my second demo ride and ordered a new 2017 RZX. It will be delivered by August 5th.

Yes. I ordered it in middle July and it is already done save some graphics and a water test. My work schedule is delaying delivery until Friday the 5th. otherwise I would be picking it up mid week. They have really cut down the build times over my 2013 Z3. I do live in Dallas so shipping is just the dealer driving to Abilene to pick it up.
