    2017 Tige alpha E2 tower

Well rumors and speculation are true and Tige listened. Looks like the 17 models will have a new taller and automated up and down tower on the Z series. Bimini design is different also. Hard to see in pics but looks like a nice design. Hope it's sturdy.

I really love the Alpha Z tower...that is one thing that really caught my eye with the Z3. I'm not gonna lie...I'm not sure if I like this change or not. Time will tell, I'll have to see it in person. Bet it looks great on the RZX, not so sure on the Z1/Z3.

I like the looks and the idea of a taller tower. I think they failed to learn from Mastercraft about what happens with power towers, however.

MC created one and it seems to have been an epic fail. I think it is still an option, but a highly discouraged one, even when a dealer makes a chunk of change from it. They failed on a regular basis, and it is pretty hard to use a boat when the tower is stuck in the down position. I wonder what kind of mechanism is inside the Tige tower. It seems the current Tige pulley system has been pretty trouble free, hasn't it? Hopefully, there is a non-powered E2 version, I think anyone who gets one in the first year is asking for trouble.

I am surprised this thread didn't get more chatter. I guess probably because it is hard to improve on the love most people have for the current tower. I think minus the power part, a tower redesign is a great thing. Tige has been using the current tower for like 7 years now?

Folds forward instead of back. It's hard to tell from the video if it folds down into the cabin or runs in to the window. If it doesn't get lower than the window, it's really going to limit it's effectiveness.

I like the looks and the taller profile. Hope the bimini is effective and provides good coverage with the taller profile.

I am happy to see them moving to a manufactured/welded tower vs. a cast tower. The Roswell tower on our old G23 was solid. I have not been a fan of the cast towers, the powder coat tends to crack and shed off them faster and they are not easily repaired should something crack/fracture. Aside from this, my main complaint on our old Z1 and the AlphaZ tower was the height and bimini. The new diamond tower on the R series is taller than the AlphaZ. I don't see the power feature being beneficial and hopefully with if folding forward, it is tucked under the windshield so that the boat can easily be operated for those that need to lower the tower to travel under low bridges. I do have to admit, it does seem that Tige is listening to their clients and trying to respond to their desires while making an effort to stay competitively priced.

When I ordered mine they said the tower, the seats on driver and port sides will flip up. Also mentioned something about there being a reverse camera. Also said the graphic options changed. No more free ride, phase or vector. Just 2 premium ones or something. I'm probly forgetting a few things.
