Tower Nav light problem

I picked up a 09 RZ2 with the Alpha tower. It has the flip over pylon with light. First day out the Nav light worked fine, the second day it quit. So I pulled it apart to check the bulb, no dice. There is a shorted wire in the tower. Is there a way to remove the housing so I can run a new wire?

How did you determine that the wire is shorted?

Because with the light removed and tested on my bench it works. Removed the forward aft light to gain access to the wiring and it has 12v at that point and nothing at the light.

Sound's to me there is an open, not a short (semmantics).

Since you can get to the connectors below the tower, check continuity to the pins where the bulb plugs in. And then behind the bulb assembly. It might be a problem up there vs the wiring...

Given how the light/tow point swivels, id look real close for the open to be at the point. There is a removable cover on the top side of the tower to gain access to the raceway

I feel like a fool for not seeing that cover. Guess I should have folded the Bimini up before I started digging into it.
