R21 Options...What prices are you guys seeing?

So, the shop who is in the process of replacing the motor in my 21v is making it REALLY tempting to take a serious look at selling my boat and upgrading to a new R21. I was also curious if the Surf +XL Ballast was worth it or if i should just go stock and go thru MLA for upgraded ballast?

Rough estimate from what you guys are seeing what would a good price be on a R21 w/ Taps 3, Normal tower (no speakers) and Surf+XL? I literally just bought a brand new Boat Mate for my 21v and my shop has a call into Boatmate to see if it would work with the R21...

Also, for you guys who finance, who do you use and what rates are you seeing? I usually use USAA for just about everything but I feel like their boat rates might be a bit high...

I use USAA as well. Their rates are a tad high but the process is a no brainer with them. With a trailer I would say an R21 would be in the low 70's. If your trailer will work, that would be nice.

When we financed (twice) we found that the dealership had the best rates available. One dealer negotiated with their local bank and the other dealer used a marine finance company. Generally I think the lenders that specialize in marine financing have the better rates, similar to the auto industry. We have a small business and between that and personally we have a great relationship with our lender but I have yet to get a better rate from them for a boat or auto, the manufacturer financing or specialized lenders beat them.

So what does Tige mean on their website when they have "$63K Nicely Equipped" next to the R21? Has the MSRP gone up due to demand? The shop I'm working with (granted they said the guy got a great deal) just picked up a loaded R20 for $55k w/ trailer...on the website the R21 only jumps the price by $2k?

Is Tige taking a page out of Mastercraft's playbook?

Looking at the way the tower folds..is the tower higher than the windshield when folded? Would this boat fit in a 7ft tall standard garage door height?

I believe my CFO can only stomach something closer to 50 so it might still be out of my league

65+- range depending on options and paint with a trailer that is. May be out of your budget until you surf behind one or see the wave they produce Saw one few weeks ago and they are very impressive.

If I recall, the price of the R21 has been $63 K "Nicely Equipped" since it's release. Opps, after a search it looks like it had been $62615...so still $63.

Doubting you will touch one of these anywhere in the $50s new. Maybe wait a year or two.

We also use USAA for just about everything, and thought for sure we would be financing our new boat with them... until the dealer was able to get us a better rate. We were a little surprised as USAA usually has the best rates... not in this instance though.

Admittably I might be out of my lane here but do dudes actually pay MSRP for boats? Is that $63k a realistic number and not MSRP? I guess that's where my confusion is...I always assume that any price on a manufactures website is going to be MSRP and you negotiate down from there?

Anybody know the trailer height w/ tower folded (standard wheels)? That would be a show stopper as well....

When companies try to offer a "value" boat they also try to "street" pricing. So the price is what yo might pay "out the door" however "street" price usually doesn't include little things like a trailer, freight to the dealer, and dealer prep. I doubt anyone ever bought the new "value" Mastercraft for 50k. I just looked at a Waketractor advertised for $39,995, but when you left with it the price was more like $50,000. I don't know if its "bait and switch" but everyone is doing it. It seems like they took thier lead from Bass Tracker.

You could build and R21 with Ballast, TAPS 3, a tower and basic audio without a trailer for probably less then 63 if the dealer is willing to negotiate. On the R series boats the margins are much slimmer.

check credit unions for finance rates. couple around here are running 1.9 and 2.49 on rv's. they won't go 15 yrs tho.
