Wow, quite the story. Thanks for documenting it and sharing it with everyone. Gotta love those unambiguous sensor naming conventions, eh?

Great post! I have the same boat. If I ever have similar issues, I'll know exactly where to look. That's what's great about you guys and this forum!!!

What's the part number of the throttle body you replaced?
        Thanks

I honestly have no idea. Call Marine Power. They are very helpful. Hopefully they have one left if that's the part you need. You just need the serial number from your engine.

            Jetter,

I am experiencing the same symptoms in my boat (2006 22ve). I've read a number of threads that mention testing voltage of the Pot from the back side of the connector while it's plugged in. After jamming my multimeter in the back of the connector, I was unable to get any readings. Did you have to do something similar to test your voltages? I have a new pot sitting in my garage but would like to see if I could calibrate my existing one first.

            Thanks,

            Gratrix14

My 06 Ve kept going into limp mode until I replaced the pot behind the throttle lever. Make sure the ignition is on with the engine off before you take readings. It’s tight back there so it is difficult to make sure the multi meter leads are making good contact. It’s been a couple years but I think the bad pot I replaced wasn’t reading any voltage.

Get longer probe leads or just poke small holes in the wires so your meter leads can get some readings.

                  gratrix14,
Did you happen to get this resolved? I am having a similar issue.
                  Thanks

Unfold paper clips and stick them through the back side of the harness connectors then attach your alligator clips to the paper clips. Try not to poke holes your wiring for testing. It allows a place for corrosion to begin. On these wires where a tenth of a volt can really affect your engine performance, you don’t want any corrosion.

I spoke with Marine Power and they sent me the attached instructions for Throttle Calibration. I have tested the wires at the POT by the throttle lever and also at the TAC module back by the motor, neither register any voyage. Maybe it will only register while the boat is running? Anyway, I am going to make another attempt with the dealership to see if they can figure it out.
