    LED's and more LED's

So the last while I've been going LED crazy throughout my boat and truck/trailer. Last year I replaced the courtesy lights with some blue LED's and installed a strip on either side of the boat above the cup holders.

I originally followed this thread that someone had linked too on WW.
    http://www.themalibucrew.com/index.p...gs-diy/&page=1

I made my rings with 1/4" line as I found the 3/8ths was too small. For speakers you can use the 3/8ths hose as a sleeve. For cupholders I used 3/8ths dowel as it held better. The hose I used is just water line which can be found at the depot. https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.s...000129494.html

I've now done all 6 inboats, 2 subs, and 9 Cup holders, and my rear blower vent with RGB....I'm not done

This last weekend I just did the bottom of my trailer as well....with just Blue LED's Also, a WW thread. Only difference is I wired all the way back to my cab and connected it to my park lights. Running boards also got done. I put another quick disconnect at the back of my truck where the 7 round is and was able to fish the line down the wiring harness to the trailer. 2-20' strips go down each side. The strips come as 16' so I had to solder on extensions to go the whole way. First I cleaned the underside of the trailer with my leather and vinyl cleaner (Malco). Then used the 3M on the back of the strips to mount then ran a bead of silicone on each side and smoothed it out with my finger. Also, had to use some zap straps to hold a couple spots while the silicone dried. Now when you unlock the truck at night the running boards will light up. When the trailer is connected it will go on too. Because I wired in to my park lights they are pretty much always on so I put in a switch at my dash so I can turn them off. Some of the guys on WW just connected in to their license plate on the trailer for power and put a switch at the fender or near the front of the trailer. I wanted cab control so I went all the way back.

At some point I'll get the rings for my Rev 10's.

Haven't been successfull with the music controller though. The lights just flicker white so right now I'm just using the controller that came with one of the strips.

My wife is a nurse and I have a 4 year old and a 1 year old. The 1 year old still naps so some weekends I get screwed and don't get out. Most of this is just evenings and weekends slowly plugging away at it. I've always done stuff like this. I can never do stock....always have to be adding something.

Colton, Speakers are done the same as the cup holder rings. Mounting depends on what speakers you have I guess. If you have the Wet Sounds like I do then you can stick the LED around the base of the back of the speaker and then slide the ring over top. It takes some fine tuning to cut the rings so they are nice and tight. You can then use silicone to hold the ring to the speaker and let dry. You'll also have to buy longer screws to re-mount. I don't have speaker pictures for reference.

I like it! Looks pretty sweet!
I'm the same way man, can't go stock with anything I own. Gonna do some customizing of the interior lighting on my 07 as my next project.

You will get a little bit of over lap when you wrap the LED around the base of the speaker and have the wires soldered on. I made my meeting point the bottom of the speaker where the actual speaker connections are. The soldered end just curls up a bit. You can then slide the ring over everything. The wired tail will just stick out. I think my speakers are an older different revision than the picture below but it will give you an idea of how to mount the strip. It just lays on its side facing out around the base of the speaker.
