Upgrade from 06 24ve to z3, thoughts?

The ASR does not surf that bad at all.

That looks...great. What is your setup and did you have to add a lot of weight over stock ballast? I love the look of the asr and really like the depth of the boat for my family.

Wish I could remember akdoc. Dealer let me use it for the weekend to dial it in so he could sell it. Lots of complaints about the surf capability but it turned out excellent. Huge sweet spot that did all the work for you. It was like a Shepard's hook pulling you along. I did have to add extra weight over stock and I recall it only being in the front locker. Too much rear weight made it washy. This is also with out the vx as well. I would not throw this boat out of your search. Just most people and dealers do not know or take the time to set them up correctly.

I am like you. I love the depth of the boat and storage. Really good for the family. If I could afford one I would get one.

I also remember prop choice is important as it made a huge difference in prop wash which also killed the wave.

Very nice looking wave! Were you able to duplicate it on the goofy side? We "borrowed" one for a day, but struggled to get a good goofy wave out of it (and had no extra ballast with us).

To be fair, I did not spend as much time on the goofy wake. Conditions were less than stellar the first day we had it with white caps and huge winds. I also took the VX off after the first day. Second day was devoted to the reg side. The goofy side was ride-able and not terrible but did not get to same caliber as regular. Not sure if these links will work.
