The codes it is throwing are:
    SPN 106 MAP sensor
    SPN 84 Speed Sensor
    SPN 23 Cam Sensor

Does anyone know which of these codes would not give an alarm, or a dash LCD message, just throw it into limp mode?

Swap MAP, check or replace cam sensor and recalibrate the potentiometer on the shifter. Just my thoughts on it all. Not sure which one of those would not set the alarm. If I had to guess I would say the MAP could fault and not alarm but I do not see it causing a hard limp like you are experiencing.

On the '07's I always blame the potentiometer first, just me. Maybe I have seen too many that were the cause of issues and I default to it.
      Oh Yeah!

I have replaced the Potentiometer on the shifter already, but did not calibrate it as it seems to work well? What would point to calibration being required?

Potentiometer is pretty voltage sensitive. Have had throttle codes set when potentiometer is literally hundredths out of range. Believe it has to be set between .95 and 1v at neutral and if you move it through it's travel you should see it come all the way up to 5v. Would have to crack the books to be sure though, it's been a while since I've head one these limp mode issues in the shop (knocking on wood).

Just an update to the solution to this problem... Talked to Marine Power and the suggested sending the ECU to them for a reflash with new Speed vs Load parameters among other tweaks, and this has solved the Limp Mode issue while heavily weighted for Surfing. Thanks to all who chimed in on this one.

Seriously this would be amazing! I was at Lake Powell last week and still had the same problem a few times. Did you just contact Marine Power and send them your ECU? How long did it take to get it back? I need to do this!! Also do you have any contact info or the name of the person you talked to? Thanks so much!

Just give Ed a call and tell him you were in contact with Adrian Ward and that you have the same engine and year, and you would like the same flash they did to mine. I mailed it to them, and they had it back within a couple of weeks and charged $100. Their phone # is877)-882-1947 I hope this works for you too... One other suggestion to get you through the rest of the summer is just to run listed, as you use less weight and no drag from the surf device if you are using one.

Nice thanks for the info!! Yeah I'm going to do this in the winter for sure, right now I've added extra oil and it probably happens once a day, but when I run lead bags it happens all the time and I would really like to run with more weight so for sure going to do that this winter!
